Overview
AUDITIONS CLOSED! Thanks everyone!
We’re looking to record a few lines for a trailer for our upcoming witch academy RPG adventure Songs of Glimmerwick. We’re an established indie studio, best known for our 2019 success Eastshade, where you play as a traveling artist.
Right now we just need one line from these characters to go in the trailer. But if we cast you for the trailer it’s likely you will be our first choice for the full role we’ll need next year.
Summary
- Prefer UK accents (not any one in particular, and doesn’t have to be natural)
- $75 USD per role (each role is under 50 words since it’s just for the trailer right now)
- Record from home with pro level audio quality (this job is remote)
Auditioning Context and Sides
- One audio file per character. Please include the character name and your name in each file.
- Please include “Audition” in the subject for the email.
- If you do multiple takes just please make them actually different! Different delivery, different tone, or accent.
- Don't add or remove words from the line. Improvisation just doesn't work for video games.
- This is an audition for your audio as well. It doesn’t have to be mixed/processed. But we need to hear the capabilities of your home setup. The job is remote.
- High bit rate mp3 or zipped .wav is fine. Mono files, please.
Deadline and Submission
We’ll be closing auditions at 10pm PST October 17, 2025.
Send auditions to: contact(at)eastshade.com
I prefer attachments over hosting, but both are okay.
Sides Notes
NOTE: The context in parenthesis after each line only applies to the line preceding it.
If you are auditioning for a character of color, and you are a PoC, feel free to mention it in the email. We prefer to cast PoC for characters of color wherever possible.

Sides and Characters
Codrin
Don't come any closer please, No need to share in my unease! (context: in this line Codrin has been cursed by fairies to dance without stopping, and everything he says is a rhyme whether he wants it to be or not)
Have you ventured into the mountains yet? I've heard there are lovely trails and good mint patches. (this line is normal. Not under a spell)
Arthur
Does anyone know any spooky stories?
My brother went here - he said they kicked a kid out for being terrible at flute. I studied all summer to get better at it but… Well, my neighbor once ran over to my house because she thought an animal was dying. I’m loads better now though!
Caelia
I've got a good one. It’s about something that happened in these very woods. (this line should be said seriously. It's going to be a serious tale. People watching the trailer should be left in mystery)
The seven were kind and loved the townspeople. They crafted instruments from the trees and gave them to the villagers so that they could also feel the powers of the forest. And so, the people learned the way of music.
Azat
It's interesting how the Silence came to power - they came up with a theory that magic was limited and we'd run out if everyone knew how to cast spells.
I love how many cats seem to just live here at the university.
He needs lots of pets. (speaking to a cat)
Davin
My aunt told me she wasn't allowed to hum or whistle during the Silence. Not even in her own home! Sounds horrible to me. (this line should be said conspiratorially)
Hi Dad! Yes, it all seems great so far… Oh my gosh PLEASE don’t bring that up someone might hear you! (context: speaking to his dad via crystal ball, that’s meant to be like a phone)
Fern
Sure, she got rid of the spores temporarily, but now they're coming back and based on records of Green Sprites from the past they're settling even deeper and faster than before.
You arrive at the Rattled Tooth. Candlelight and the voices of half a village pour from the tavern. (context: narrating a DnD game)
Zinnia
Everyone knows that rot leads to silence - and unfortunately, some witches preferred it that way. That's why we have to go in and make things right. (this is the last line of the trailer. It’s not a rousing speech. It should be said like you’re around a campfire, softly but with conviction, and everyone understands what you’re saying is really important. I think looking at the shot will help you understand the tone)
Okay, open and honest. I'm going to tell you some things to avoid any... problems. Please don't respond - it'll disrupt my flow. And whatever you do, keep running! (this line should be said like you’re about to do something crazy)
