In-Depth Unit Reviews
This role list reflects the current meta for PvE, which revolves around the strength of offensive buffers, especially Refithea and Diana's elemental advantage buffs. Endgame teambuilding is CONTENT DEPENDENT, depending on the element the enemies are weak to. The typical endgame team is typically comprised of the following:
- Diana/Refithea
- Secondary Buffer
- DPS (with elemental advantage)
- Flex
- Flex
The Flex slots can either be another DPS unit, or a unit with support utility for that specific battle. Thus, in order to progress your account in terms of costumes, it's best to follow these guidelines:
- The offensive buffers are must pulls, with dupes. Diana for any team, Homunculus Lathel for physical teams, and B-Rank Idol Helena for magic teams.
- Invest in a DPS per element (long term goal). Ideally you want dupes on these units, and multiple costumes.
- Other utility costumes depend on content.
The tiering depends on all the costumes a unit has. Thus, a unit getting a new costume can make them much better, improving their skill uptime and potentially creating synergy between the costumes. In general, the best DPS units in your account are the ones with the most dupes and costumes.

Utility Costumes (5★)

Typical examples feature: Diana (Damage Amplifier), Lathel (Tank), Helena (MATK/Heal buffs), Rou (Counter/Taunt utility), Lathel (Energy Guard synergy), Refithea (Glutti Showtime! - crit DMG buff and barrier), Liatris (Rodev's Star DoTs), and many others. Mechanic Glossary and Core Concepts
Brown Dust II uses a rich set of mechanics that shape how teams perform in PvE and PvP-like content. The following glossary captures the essential terms and their practical implications:
- Chain Multipliers: A unit inflicted with Chain x will take additional damage in subsequent hits. Example: a 3-hit skill hitting a chain 3 yields progressively higher damage multipliers on each hit.
- Elemental Advantage: Property DMG; increased damage against enemies weak to your character's element and reduced damage taken from their counters. Fire > Wind > Water > Fire; Light vs Dark is a separate dynamic.
- EoT Effects: End-of-turn effects like Bleed and Regeneration. EoT effects are calculated dynamically and can be affected by buffs on the caster.
- Bleed and Regeneration: Bleed deals damage over time; Regeneration heals over time and can crit depending on the source.
- HP Scaling: Many skills scale with max HP, but there are caps (e.g., 30,000 HP coefficient cap). Energy Guard caps are also defined by HP-based scaling.
- Energy Guards: Shields that absorb damage but do not count toward current HP calculations for HP-based scaling. They are treated as barrier buffs.
- On-Hit Effects: Effects triggered when an attack hits, after damage calculation. Do not stack across hits from the same skill.
- DoT (Damage over Time): DoT effects stack and have durations; they can be refreshed by subsequent hits.
- Shred: Reduces DEF/MR, with base and cap interactions explained to ensure proper stacking.
- Silence, Dispel, and Vulnerability: Various debuffs and buffs applied on-hit, with DoT and shield interactions noted.
- Evade, Taunt, and Concentrate: Core targeting mechanics that influence who is attacked and when.
- True DMG: Fixed damage that ignores DEF, MR, vulnerability and other mitigation, but not Energy Guard.
- Stat Caps and Buffs: Guidelines on cap values for ATK, Crit Rate, Crit DMG, DEF, MR, etc., and how caps interact with stacking buffs.
This glossary also includes notes on cross-unit interactions, weapon-specific quirks, and representative unit examples for reference.
Example Data Points and Notable Units
- Liatris: A top-tier unit with high base damage, strong DoT profiles, and synergy with other magic-using units in Elemental Reverse setups.
- Levia: Known for Night of Jealousy and Track and Field Team Captain, provides strong magic amplification and AoE potential.
- Roxy: Respected Master with Respected Master and Emerging Desire, offering a strong AoE kit with long-range utility.
- Morpeah: Beach Vacation and Daydream Bunny are powerful in niche setups, especially when paired with Apostle or other magic-dedicated costumes.

FAQ
Q1: Once I recruit them will they come back once I clear the whole recruitment pool?
A1: No, once you recruit everyone from your Pub pool it will be diluted and empty out.
Q2: Does this track free costume from Events?
A2: No, only free costume or unlockable unit from Story/Pub.
Mechanic Overview (Short Reference)
- End-of-turn effects (EoT) occur after damage and can be affected by buffs. Bleed effects are EoT and interact with regeneration.
- Damage reductions (DR) stack multiplicatively with DEF and MR after caps, so a unit with high DR and moderate DEF can achieve strong mitigation.
- On-hit effects do not stack when triggered by multiple hits from the same skill; they refresh durations or refresh the effect on the target.
Current Rotation — Powder of Hope, Medal of Honor, Golden Threads, Character Pass
The top row shows the current rotation across three categories. This snapshot is designed to help players track the rotation and plan the following week’s pulls. The lists update with new banners and reruns as the community tracks events and collaborations.
