List of not recommended tuners to avoid at all costs! Some common misconceptions when it comes to the quality of tunes and what tunes to use, are picking tunes that appear on the front page on the recommeded tune screen in game, and looking at the star rating and thinking a higher star rating = better tune. Firstly, tunes that show up first on the recommended tune screen (that are not from your friends or followed creators) are simply tunes that are either popular with many downloads and/or tunes released recently within the past 48hrs. Secondly, the star rating of a tune also relates solely to the popularity of the tune with how many downloads it has, and does not indicate any actual rating about the quality of the tune itself! Unfortunately, many of the most popular and highest rated tunes and many of the most popular tuners in this game are popular by abusing the in-game algorithm (spamming low-quality untested tunes for new reward/DLC cars and seasonal cars ASAP, clickbait tunes, etc), instead of taking effort to make actual tunes worth using! This is a game with many unrealistic quirks in its physics engine, and tuning can vary quite signficiantly between each car. There is no algorithm or csuch that can effectively take all of this into account.
ASSIST ASSIST SETTING NOTES Braking Anti-Lock Off or Anti-Lock On (Keyboard requires ABS) Anti-Lock Off vs Anti-Lock On has similar braking distance on road, however Anti-Lock On is slightly better for offroad racing. Steering Simulation Not much difference between Standard/Simulation, I personally use Simulation. However, certain cars with high center of gravity such as the Reliant Robin, GMC Jimmy, etc can have stability issues leading to 3 wheeling or rollover if using normal steering instead of simulation. Traction Control Off You may want to consider turning TCS on if you are having trouble driving a high power RWD car or you want to drive RWD on keyboard, although TCS off will usually be faster if you can handle it. Specific cars such as Reliant Robin powerbuild will require TCS. Stability Control Off Shifting Manual W/Clutch For controller it may be helpful for you to enable Switch E-Brake/Clutch in Advanced Controls, which will place the clutch button on A next to the gear shift buttons X and B. This means you can use your thumb to press both gear shift and clutch at the same time. Driving Line Personal Preference I personally use Braking Only to mark braking zones on the track. Damage & Tyre Wear None or Cosmetic Only Damage & Tyre Wear is forced to cosmetic only for online races. Rewind On Hot Wheels Stunt Steering Assist Off Only takes effect on the Hot Wheels map. Launch Control On or Off Launch Control On may be faster on some cars/builds, and Off may be faster on others. Personally I use Launch Control Off, since it is more consistent for most cars/builds and allows for 2nd gear launch on high power RWD/FWD builds. Also AWD builds are best used with Launch Control Off as well.
