The Umamusume Carat Value Chart
The value is in USD; you can determine the value in your own local currency by dividing the Total Carats in a pack by the price of that pack.
Compared to last time, I added the relevant Anniversary Carat Shop items and how many USD it takes to do a 10-pull per pack, and created an extra Carats to Dollar column to illustrate the value you would get by purchasing the pack that has a bonus item (e.g., vouchers, monies, etc.). Regarding the tables, math, when calculating the value for bonuses, the reasoning is that:
- Regarding Limited Anniversary Packs: The Selector Voucher is good as a Spark, which is 200 Pulls.
- Regarding Rookie Starter Packs B & C: A random SSR or 3 Star Uma, on average, can take 23 Pulls (that is, when you cross the 50% probability threshold with odds of .97^23).
- Regarding Rookie Starter Pack A: Monies and SP is based on net Carat loss if you fail to get to win in Round 1 in Champions Meet; 20 Carats = 4,000 Monies and 2,000 SP to theoretically meet the gains that the Rookie Starter Pack provides, 41.67 runs on Champions meet are needed to equal this gain which comes to 834 Carats rounded up (41.67*20=~834).
- The Limited Anniversary Packs' Costs are estimated based on how they are in the JP Version.
Please note that Paid Carats can only be used on the platform you purchased them on (Steam, iOS, or Android).
Looking at this chart, you would get the most value by purchasing Anniversary Voucher Packs first. The ability to choose an Uma or SSR of your choice for as low as approx 21 USD provides excellent value compared to the implied regular max cost to spark of over 400 USD (buying 30,000 Carats to spark). The Rookie Starter Packs would provide the next best value, as you would be able to get a random launch SSR or Launch 3 Star Uma for effectively free (when considering that you get the same amount of Carats with these packs as with the regular packs at this price). This provides great value for the price. The Daily Carat pack is a budget-conscious way to obtain Carats, and while only 500 of the 2,000 gained are paid, this is still a great way to regularly get a bunch of Carats at a low price. Additionally, this pack has the benefit that if you miss logging in to claim your daily from this pack, it is not lost; you just get it at a later date, which is beneficial compared to other popular Gachas. If you need more Carats, the Limited Offer Packs are a good way to get Carats for the money compared to the regular packs, but it is important to note that if we near an active Anniversary Carat Shop item, it is better to spend on the Anniversary Pack since all Anniversary Packs are Limited-Time only compared to the Launch Limited Carat offers (or to potentially wait for possible CyGames Webstore enhanced Carat packs; see section below).
In fact, it is important to note that the Anniversary Carat Shop will be available at the JP 1st & 2nd Anniversaries, and it will be available at all anniversary celebrations thereafter (e.g., 2.5, 3, 3.5, etc.). Plus, there will be an SSR Selector Voucher that is obtainable via limited-time missions at the 0.5, 1, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5, 4, and 4.5 Anniversaries (There will be one voucher at each mission pack). For some reason, there is a permanent mission for the 1.5 anniversary SSR Selector voucher. Use it to obtain an SSR support card of your choice from the respective anniversary pool. Expect this mission reward to continue to future anniversaries.
Among regular Carat packs, the 2,500 offers the best value in the U.S. shop, and the 210 Carats is the best budget pack option.
Please keep in mind the pricing, and by extension value, can vary by region and currency (IIRC the 60 Carat Pack is the regular pack that provides the most Carat value in Canada).
In Short, the Daily Carat Pack is highly recommended. During an anniversary, the voucher packs should be prioritized first, and the Limited Carat pack should be purchased first over any other Carat-only packs. Since they are not time-limited (and are more quantity-limited), the Rookie Starter and Limited Offer packs should be considered next (especially when the Anniversary Carat Shop item is not active or will be active soon). Also, it may be wise to conserve your not time-limited packs until you need them, as should the Global version get CyGames Webstore support, then the Limited Offer packs will get bonus carats, allowing you to get more carats for your money (see section below). Among standard packs, go for the 2,500 Carat Packs, and if you need a cheaper option, then go for the 210 Carat Pack.
Future Carat Shop Offerings
I should mention that there are also other purchasable items that will be added to the Carat Shop a few years from now. These include passes that allow Players to avoid using Carats for applicable future quality of life features, an unlock for the paid version of a battle pass, and an eventual replacement for the Daily Carat Pack. Since these items have an undetermined Global price and full benefits available, I cannot at this time determine the value for these packs, but I will update this document to include the value once they are available in the Global version. One thing I will note is that Tazuna's shop will eventually offer an Exchange shop to get SSR cards, and I know that the Trainer Pass will allow you to earn more of the exchange currency.
Cygames Webstore Offerings
Around the time of the 4th Anniversary in Japan, Cygames began to offer Carat packs via the Cygames Webstore. These packs, when purchased with a Linked Cygames ID on the webstore, will allow the user to use the Carats purchased on any operating system as long as the accounts are linked. In addition, all packs in the webstore have a 10% Carat bonus compared to purchasing them in-game. The 10% Bonus is given in free Carats. Both of these benefits make the Cygames Webstore the preferred place to buy Carats. This webstore offering is likely possible due to the result of the Apple v. Epic Games Lawsuit. The Umamusume Store on the Cygames Webstore is region-locked to Japan, so all offerings in the chart below are based on my research via Umapyoi.net. All offerings listed below are subject to inaccuracies in regards to pricing and availability of Carat Packs not available in the Global Version. Once the Cygames Webstore is available for the Global Version of Umamusume (it will eventually happen as you can purchase items for the Global version of Granblue Fantasy right now), I will update the chart below to include everything that can be bought on the Webstore, their price and any definitive bonus items that come along when purchasing the packs (especially at the JP 4th and 4.5 Anniversaries).
It is important to note that among limited packs, your purchase limits are shared between the in-game versions and the Webstore Versions. For example, if you have purchased all 2 limited offer 1,500 Carats packs already, you will not be able to buy the limited offer 1,650 Carats packs. If you bought one pack already in-game, you should be able to purchase the other pack on the Webstore (not sure, but I believe there is a high chance that it works like this).
The latest that this store will be implemented is around the time of the 4th JP Anniversary; however, since this Webstore generates revenue for Cygames, and allows them to bypass the 30% cut that is taken by other storefronts, this may get implemented sooner than in JP, so that Cygames can get 1 of every 1 spent instead of 70 cents. When it will happen, I do not know because it will take time to properly implement this, but I imagine the revenue incentive from Cygames' end will have them implement this sooner rather than later.
Useful Resources For Banner Date Estimates and Carat Calculators
It can be difficult to know when the anniversaries are coming or when your Uma will be available. Thankfully, there are calendars offered by Cyhne, SoulEC, and Uma.moe that have estimates on when certain content will be available. While none of these estimates are guaranteed, they should be used to provide relevant time distances for when certain Umas, SSRs, or anniversaries will be available.
If you want to have an idea of how many Carats you will have available at a certain banner, then please check out the tool by Henry Handsome Derby and Bnhershy (Note: The link is to Henry's video, and the link to the tool is in the video description; per the creator's wishes). If you prefer a website-based tool, you can use the version created by Mia Iceberg. (Note: this tool, as of this now, does not have the adjusted Carat rewards.)
Using Rainbow and Gold Crystals and Selector SSR Vouchers to Pull SSRs Efficiently
Around late November 2025, the global version will receive the Gold and Rainbow Crystals. These act as a wild card limit break on an SR and SSR card, respectively. You will get one at the start and then have the ability to craft another one about once every 4 months (at least with Rainbow Crystals; I do not know if the Gold Crystals are craftable at a faster rate).
You can use these to conserve Carats. Suppose there is a new SSR you want to MLB, such as the Mejiro Ramonu SSR Wit at the 2nd JP Anniversary. If you have any Rainbow Crystals, you could initially pull to get to a Spark and then use any Rainbow Crystals to get to MLB, thus allowing you to save carats for future Umas and Support Cards. Also, if there is an Anniversary with an SSR Voucher pack that you plan to purchase (with that SSR being voucherable), then you can save your Rainbow Crystals for SSRs that are not voucherable. You can still decide to use a Rainbow Crystal if your SSR is a Limit Break away from a performance boost (such as with 3LB Kitasan Black).
The Next Kitasan Black Like Support Cards
If you are primed for pulling for Umas and only care about pulling powerful universal use SSRs (such as Kitasan Black Speed SSR) that often have some longevity, you will be happy to know that the next important card is at the 2nd JP anniversary. If you are mainly or only pulling for SSRs like these, then you will mainly need to save for the following cards, per vinceku10 and gonzaleslau on Reddit.
Mejiro Ramonu (Wit): 2nd JP anniversary
El Condor Pasa (Speed): 2.5th anniversary
Mejiro McQueen (baseball) (Wit): JP 33rd Month
Sound of Earth (Stamina): JP 33rd Month
Duramente (Speed): JP 34th Month
Orfevre (Guts) 3rd JP anniversary
Still In Love (Speed): 3.5th JP anniversary
Almond Eye (Speed): 4th JP Anniversary
There is also an Excellent SR Speed El Condor Pasa that will be available around the JP 17th Month, which is rated to be as good as an SSR. It is best to pull for one copy of this card and then use 4 Gold Crystals to Max Limit Break this card.
You may not be able to pull for each card, and that is not the worst thing in the world. You could skip the next speed card to target the next one (like waiting for a year or 2 to upgrade your smartphone) on the list, or use SSR vouchers or Rainbow Crystals to help you out. And there is no shame in having the best possible SSR card and instead of having a very good SSR. There might be other important SSRs (for certain niches or for other card types), but if there are, I do not have additional knowledge at this time. For a more in-depth guide to see which SSRs are important or which SSRs power creep over others, please look at the ‘Ideal Support Card Banner Pulls’ section of the Umamusume Global Reference Document to assist you (Currently has info up until the JP 4th Anniversary, I will change this if it is updated further).
Selector Vouchers
Now, let's say you have purchased an Anniversary Voucher pack. What can you use the Voucher on? The voucher can be used on Umas and SSRs up to a certain point at each anniversary. The table below summarizes what the voucher can be used for.
Note: NY = New Year, ST = Summer Trip, Val = Valentines, S = Summer
It is important to be aware of the availability so you can plan your pulls effectively. Take the 1st Anniversary, for example, from an Uma perspective. You cannot use the 1st Anniversary voucher on Sakura Chiyono O, Valentines Mihono Bourbon, Valentines Eishin Flash, Mejiro Ardan, Admire Vega, or Kitasan Black (you can select them on any future Anniversary Voucher). If you were interested in both Admire Vega and Tamamo Cross, for example, and you wanted to buy the Anniversary Uma voucher, it is financially best to skip the Tamamo Cross banner so you can pull and get Admire Vega and then buy the Anniversary Uma voucher pack to get Tamamo Cross. If you wanted to know when which specific Umas or SSRs will be Voucher selectable at a specific anniversary, please view the Calendar links above and use the chart above as a guidepost.
The selectable Anniversary vouchers can save you hundreds of dollars when you plan and use them effectively, but it is important to know what you can and cannot get with each voucher, especially when we consider that there are a few Umas who will never be voucherable…
Quasi-Limited Uma Banners
At some point after the 3rd anniversary, Umamusume will introduce a ‘Quasi-Limited Banner’. These rate-up banners will have a 3 Star Uma rate of 4.5% (even though the Featured Uma will remain 0.75%), but more importantly, the Featured Uma will be Quasi-Limited. What this means is that:
- The Uma can be Sparked like other banners, but it is important to save up to Spark for the Uma because
- You can't ever use a selector voucher on the Quasi-Limited Uma or set it on a Step-Up banner (We will touch base on the Step-Up banner below.)
- However, you can pull the quasi-limited Uma off on any banner, albeit on the lower rate general 3 Star Uma Pool (with all the other 3 Star Umas), in what we call being “Spooked.”
- And at some point in the future, you are only able to select these Umas if you are a New Player (when a specific banner is introduced, personally, I do not know when).
Currently, the Umas that are Quasi-Limited are Jungle Pocket, Gentildonna, Orfevre, and Still in Love, and expect any future Anniversary and Half-Anniversary units to be Quasi-Limited.
(Expect Almond Eye to be the 5th Anniversary Unit and Stay Gold to be the 5.5 Anniversary Unit, given the current JP Trend that the SSR introduced at the most recent anniversary and is teased highly will be introduced a year later)
If you are interested in a Quasi-Limited Uma, it is important to prioritize saving your Carats for these banners. You can get other Umas that were released near these Quasi-Limited Umas (such as Dream Journey, which was released just after Jungle Pocket) via Selectable Vouchers or by the Step-Up banner.
The Use of Paid Carats in Gacha
You have a bunch of paid Carats, and you want to know what you can use the Paid Carats on regarding pulls. Umamusume has 3 main ways where you can only use Paid Carats, which are:
- Daily Discounted Pull
- Paid Guaranteed 3 Star Uma/SSR 10 Pull
- Step-Up Banners
Daily Discounted Pulls can lower the total Carats needed for Banner Sparks for Umas or SSRs (Since the Pull is 50 Paid Carats), and you can do the discount once a day for each banner. However, in my opinion, you should only do Daily Discounted Pulls on Banners you want to pull on to maximize value.
Paid Guaranteed 3 Star Uma/SSR 10 Pull cost 1,500 Paid Carats and give you a 10 pull with a random guaranteed SSR/3 Star Uma. The rate-up pools can vary by theme, so take a closer look at what is on offer. Personally, these banners are useful only if there is a good amount of SSR or 3 Star Umas that you are interested in, the pools relative to total on offer, or if you just need More Umas or SSRs and you do not care which ones you want. While these banners give you a random SSR or 3 Star Uma on 10 Pulls compared to the average 23 Pulls, I would recommend saving your paid Carats on…
Step-Up Banners
This is a great way to use your paid Carats. First, you select 10 3 Star Umas or SSRs, which make up your rate-up pool. Then you do 10 Pulls at the following Paid Carat amounts and receive the following benefits.
Yes, you will have a Selector from this for only 5,000 Carats.
Any 3 Star Uma or SSRs will only be from your selected pool, and you could pull the same SSR or 3 Star Uma Multiple times. This is first offered at the 3rd anniversary, and the number of times you can use the Step-Up banner varies by Anniversary:
Notes about the chart:
* The additional cycle is added a few weeks after the initial offering
** The official wording is that Uma Musume or SSR released in the gachas held until 11:59 pm JST on 2/24/2024, but based on my research, this does not include Duramente (Original); Orfevre (Guts) & Ryoka Tsurugi (Friend) at this step up, so it would mean that any SSR or Uma in the game by 1/31/2024 would be selectable.
Additionally, you will be able to obtain 1 or 2-star Umas or R or SR Cards that are available at the start of each anniversary, not limited to 3 Star or SSR dates.
And again, you cannot select Quasi-Limited Umas for your Step-Up Pool.
The Step-Up banners are far better than the Paid (Guaranteed) 10 Pulls since:
- Step-Up Pools are based on your selection and are more targeted (smaller) than Paid 10 pulls
- You would get 20 more pulls than 3 Paid (Guaranteed) 10 pulls
- Unlike the Paid 10 pulls, one of these SSR or 3 Star Umas would be a selection of your choice
- With the opportunity cost being 500 extra Carats compared to 3 Paid (Guaranteed) 10 Pulls, it is worth it to pursue the Step-Up Banner instead if given the choice.

The Content Summary and Usage Notes
The document emphasizes that carat value varies by region and currency and that paid carats are platform-specific. It outlines the relative value of different pack types (Daily Carat, Rookie Starter Packs A/B/C, Limited Anniversary Packs, Anniversary Voucher Packs) and provides guidance on prioritizing purchases during anniversaries for maximum value. It also introduces future features such as the Webstore and exchange options, alongside strategies for using Rainbow and Gold Crystals to optimize SSR pulls and preservation of carats for future banners. It explains Quasi-Limited banners, Step-Up banners, and the conditions under which certain vouchers can be used.
The Practical Takeaway
- Prioritize Anniversary Voucher Packs during anniversaries for the best value; these packs often offer the most flexibility and potential SSR selections at a lower cost.
- Use Daily Carat Packs for regular carat accrual when available; they offer a low cost per day but are time-limited.
- Consider Limited Anniversary and Launcher-related packs when the calendar indicates favorable timings and potential bonuses.
- Use Rainbow and Gold Crystals to reach Spark or MLB on SSRs without expending excessive Carats, especially around vouchers or non-voucherable SSRs.
- Prepare for future global offerings such as Cygames Webstore launches and exchange-based buys by maintaining a diversified carat pool and a plan for which banners to target next.
Appendix: Notes on Gameplay and Mechanics
- Spark thresholds are typically around 200 pulls for a suitable voucher; in some contexts, Rainbow Crystals can help convert a Spark to MLB for a given SSR over time.
- Quasi-Limited Umas require special considerations in planning and cannot be directly selected via certain voucher mechanisms; the current known list includes Jungle Pocket, Gentildonna, Orfevre, and Still in Love, with Almond Eye and Stay Gold anticipated in future anniversaries.
- Step-Up banners allow you to craft a targeted rate-up pool of 10 Umas or SSRs and cost 5,000 Carats for a Selector, with additional cycles added after the initial offering; the options available in the Step-Up pool vary by anniversary.
- The data here is based on JP content timelines and conjectures about global release timelines; exact values may vary by region and platform.
