Overview
This spreadsheet looks at all the possible different board patterns for Faux Hollows and aims to help you find a Fox illustration. If you find a new fox, or have a question, please comment here ----> my reddit post

How to use and understand this spreadsheet:
1. Find the board pattern you have in the 'Board Patterns' sheet. There are 4 base patterns, which each can be rotated 4 times, resulting in 16 board patterns. Note the letter and orientation of your board e.g A↑ or C←
2. Navigate to the 'X Patterns' sheet relevant to your board type (A, B, C, or D), and (↑ → ↓ or ←)
3. Approximate where the Sword illustration is on your board by uncovering tiles. Colour Legend
Uncovering a single tile of an illustration should let you figure out where the rest of the illustration is. Sword
Coffer/Giftbox
4. Back in spreadsheet, in your tab, find the row that has your sword rectangle in the same location. confirmed Fox location
5. Find where your square coffer is located and that will narrow your pattern down to one.
6. A coloured single square shows where a Fox has been observed before. Uncovering this tile on your board may reveal a Fox.
Note that there is no guarantee that a Fox will appear, nor that the Fox will appear in that location every time.
If you find a fox that is not in a purple square, please screenshot and send it to me in my reddit post above so I can edit sheet. Thanks!

- Sword: pink/magenta blocks mark sword locations in the illustration.
- Coffer/Giftbox: pinkish blocks indicate coffer/giftbox positions.
- Confirmed Fox location: purple squares mark tiles where a Fox has been observed in the past.
Notes on Fox Location and Patterns
- There is no guarantee that a Fox will appear on any given board; predicting exact locations is probabilistic based on the observed patterns.
- If you find a fox location that is not in a purple square, screenshot it and share it in the Reddit post linked above so the sheet can be updated.
- The patterns are based on base shapes rotated into 16 possible board arrangements (4 base patterns rotated 4 times).
(Edit history and pattern notes follow in the next sections.)
Edit History
EDIT record:
- 1/10/23 Made new reddit post calling it complete
- Deleted unused patterns
- Deleted 2 wrongly marked foxes
- Rechecked previous comments to confirm fox locations
- Made Edit s tab
- Removed yellow probable fox locations in the two tables
- 18/8/22 Rearranged box patterns so patterns that have been seen in game are first. (The others were/are the physically possible patterns that could be formed from starting blocks).
- Edited How to Use tab for easier step by step guide. Also renamed it to How to Use.
- Deleted unneeded rows below
- Added row between pattern rows for spacing where needed
- Used Publish to Web for new sheet that should load better for more people

Final Notes
- NEW: Check out the solver mentioned earlier; it aims to simplify recognizing patterns and locating Fox illustrations by matching observed Sword and Coffer/Giftbox positions.
- The patterns shown are representative examples of the 16 possible board configurations and their rotations, and they may be updated as new data is gathered from gameplay.
- If you have additional patterns or observed Fox locations, sharing them helps improve accuracy for others using the sheet.
