11/14 Can we fill out more of the interview impressions plssss? :)
11/13 anyone receive the itinerary for Sinai Baltimore for tomorrow?
11/13 Not sure if I did something wrong, but I haven't heard back from any TY/prelim programs. Is it even worth applying to more at this point?
It's never over until it's over! Shoot your shot! I hear prelim and TY programs are more open to LOIs and never hurts to ask PCs if there are any more spots!
I have no clue but i assume asking the pc before applying is a good idea and reaching out to your advisor
Only have 2 TY interviews but 14 PM&R thankfully, not sure what's going on with TY // the competition for TY is harder than PM&R (especially cush or good location TYs. You're up against derm, ophtho, IR, rads applicants. Usually PM&R applicants have to aim for the prelim IM in the suburbs for higher yield.
h heard back from my first prelim this week... I've heard that some programs wait until the categorical interviews are done
You can always soap a prelim. Focus more on PM&R and don't let the prelim year stress you out too much.
11/13
Guys Thanksgiving is coming up. Just wanted to let y'all know that I'm so grateful to be going through this experience with you all. I know it's stressful. But every so often when I'm bored I go look at the gen surg excel for example and some of the comments are WILDDDD. So thankful the PM&R applicants are all pookies and just want to have fun and match and be great physiatrists. Remember you only need 1 program to match. We got this!
Wow I can't even imagine surgery…. Blessed with all the pookies here // <3
I really love this field and amazing people in PM&R. Hope you all the best! x2
dude on the derm sheet the first page
literally says "please don't be a mean or toxic person and resist urges to delete info"
like WTF LOOOOOL so grateful to be PM&R
thanks for callin me pookie. lol really needed that today // <3
11/13 we should have the option of reassigning signals given to programs that rejected us.
I'm tired of this grandpa! // That's too damn bad!! But also I agree <<
11/13 any word on VCU? are they done releasing interview invites?
11/13 I got a waitlist email from them. So I would assume that they have sent out all of the interviews that they're going to do for now, and any further ones would come from the waitlist. Although, it does seem like a waitlist is just a soft rejection in this virtual era.
have not heard any commmunication from them so they could be still going through apps and sending out communication once they reach those decision batches?
I recieved IV from them and they stated all their interview slots are now full Bruh I signaled them and have heard nothing 🥲//signaled, letter of interest, talked to them at AAPMR and still silence
11/13 Anyone interviewing at Yale: can you tell when the last interview day is?
11/13 Would love to hear interview impressions for MedStar Georgetown NRH if anyone can fill that out 🥺🥺 pls Unfortunately got an rejection from them but hopefully someone can help you pookie // thanks pookie appreciate u <3
11/12 Does Wright Center for Graduate Medical Education Program have an R spot this year? I heard that it might've been a false listing.
11/12
For those who had an audition rotation at UK, did you have problems with interviews during the rotation? Supposedly last year's google doc said students were having a hard time and they were forcing students to make up times over the weekend
From my understanding, UK as a school (not just pmr program) has a policy for rotations you can only miss 1 day without making it up. However, weekend shifts are usually pretty chill
That is beyond insane and a DNR. Even if the interview scheduled is with THEIR program!? That's insanity
11/12 Does anyone know if the Chronology form for ECU should include volunteer/org experiences? Does this really matter also? 11/12 Question- I have an away at Carolinas Rehab later on - has anyone else done one yet? Do you know if they interview you at the end? Because if the PC says all invites are out, i'm wondering if it's still worth doing at this point bc it's so expensive to travel that far!
In the same situation! I have an away with them coming up and they sent me an invite to interview recently, but its not necessarily during the rotation. I think they are sending out rolling interviews from what it seems, but idk if they have more spots or not
Did an audition there and did not get an interview unfortunately :( x2 Thanks for sharing! just saved me thousands of dollars hahah // yes you got this <3 ///how much did they charge to do an audition???
11/12
Someone deleted the question regarding Case Western MetroHealth's PM&R program having suspicious vibes (11/13)///wtf// Refer to column F for experience from away rotator TLDR vibes are great, call is long
Whaaat that's so interesting. I didn't do an audition but absolutely loved my interview they all seemed so lovely! What negative things did you hear? ///Bad vibes, not comprehensive amongst residents. Idk it's on Reddit why I am also curious //
Resident during interview made it sound like the program was going downhill due to cuts in NIH research funding
impacting residency funds///oh crap really!? Def did not get that impression at all yesterday
got the opposite impression during my IV, that they were making changes to the program that they were all excited about
Did an away there and interview with them, I have seen the negative comments but 100% not the vibe I got from the program. All of the residents have been beyond kind to me, some even helping to review my app and personal statement. The PD is very supportive and approachable. I had a great experience there! Also, their didactics are amazing and interactive. All of the residents never hesitated to include me in the Epic messages about my patients, discuss treatment plans, and give feedback on my notes. Honestly love the program. Major con is the call, but that also just speaks to the level of responsibility and that PM&R is the primary care team for the patients in the standalone IPR hospital.
11/12
accidentally addressed the PD by their first name in an email about interview logistics because i was typing too fast they're out of office until 11/17, should I send a follow-up email correcting myself and apologizing or just let it go and hope she never notices/isn't offended?
I would just leave it like that
11/12 Any updates on when HCA Mercer SOM / Trident sends their invites?
11/12 How do waitlist emails sound? Some rejection emails say they'll contact me through thalamus for invite if something opens up or that they'll keep my file for if something opens up. Mine have directly stated that I'm on the waitlist and they'll reach out if anything changes
11/11 Hi everyone! If you’re interviewing at Burke on 11/13, did the instruction email go out? I didn’t get it and just wanted to confirm.
11/11 GUYS. Watch what you're typing in the interview offer date people keep changing the row headers by accident
11/11 At what point are we collectively thinking not hearing back at this point = silent rejection? I still have not heard word from 24 programs. Understand if those are all a no but would be nice to know :(
Hard to say, some programs may still be sprinkling in some spots, but I feel like the large waves of invites are now done Big wave 11/12 from low tier/new programs!
11/11 Did anyone who interview at Honor Health recieve the social link prior like on the day of? The social is tonight and I havent recieved a link for the teams The link is under schedule on Thalamus! Hmm, the itinerary was published for me almost 2 weeks ago. I also got another email saying it's published a few minutes ago, so hopefully it popped up for you now too!
It's up for me just now after republishing thank you! there apparently was an error on thalamus and it skipped me on the
link
Glad you got it!
11/11 For those at the Baylor Interview right now, is it just done after your final interview?
11/11
Bringing back the idea of "needing 11 to match" and "continguous matching." I see the average interview invites at 10 right now on the applicant data page. Is that what that means- that everyone is likely to match?
I guess PMR hasn't historically had unmatched spots b/c of too many applicants until recently.
I think the average is less this year because its been a big year for PM&R; my home institution PD said they got way more signals than ever so numbers just shook out differently this cycle Did 20 signals shaft applicants?
not necessarily, probably just makes it much less likely to get interviews outside of your signal list. the overall goal is to prevent students from having to apply to 40+ programs so they increased the signal number, similar to what ortho did
Does 20 signals make you more competitive for a program once you get the interview? probably not becuase they are interviewing the same amount of people no matter how many signals we get
11/10 Has anyone gotten interview invites from both Monte and Burke at the same time? I’ m wondering if they coordinate because they’re in the same system or if the invites are sent independently. // They are NOT the same system
mine were separate x2
If you guys could only pick one, which one would you pick? To me, Monte seems like better location, but Burke seems like a better lifestyle. How much would you weight each?
i think it really just depends on your priorities! x2
What are the pros to one vs the other?? I think the locaiton difference has large implications. Monte is in Brooklyn and will have underserved populations, higher workload probably, more complex patients. Burke is in white plains and will probably be a little slower paced and just suburban vibes for better or worse. Monte is in THE BRONX, not Brooklyn
11/10 Anyone in contact with Mount Sinai recently to know if it is done? In general feels like interview invites are winding down? according to the program coordinator they're still reviewing apps that's crazy lol
11/10 I think we are missing the Larkin Palm Springs program as a separate entry on a few of the tabs, causing some confusion.
yes i just realized i got invites from both programs? South miami on 11/4 and Palm Springs on 11/5. I initally thought it was a repeat invite
11/10 Is it 100% confirmed that Larkin Palm Spring program is IN person? Has it always been like that. Very nervous about the flight situation happening righ now
It is my understanding that Palm Springs is in- person interviews vs. virtual for south Miami.
Can confirm in person. Mine is this Saturday, feeling relieved I get to drive luckily. Can't believe they moved to in person though. Extremely inconvenient.
11/10
For those who have interviewed with Larkin (South Miami), was there only one interview (with the PD)? How long is it and how did it go? I'm skeptical about this program considering the pay for Miami and some malignancy comments.
Interview today, which is the first day. It appears to be that way but can follow up afterwards <<<< Yes. It is the 1 hour overview of the program hosted by a resident, then you wait until your ~30 min breakout session with the PD. The PD was running severely behind my day (almost one hour behind) so make sure you are flexible
in time 11/9
For those who have an interview scheduled or already interviewed at SUNY Downstate: do we only need to fill out the Google Form? There isn’t a separate attestation form, right?
I just downloaded the attestation form since I couldn't edit the Google Form and emailed it to their coordinator. / Thank you so much!
11/9
is NYP's call schedule very frequent compared to other programs? Weekday call – outpatient Saturday call – affiliate sites
Inpatient – alternating Sunday day vs night call It's one of the heavier call schedules, yeah / are you talking about NYP or Stanford?
The call does not seem as bad as Shirley Ryan or UW (?) Compared to SRAL, it might be worse. SRAL
is q14. Stanford is q7
11/9 Is Stanford malignant/weird? +4 Not sure how malignant a PM&R program can be
11/9
Anyone been asked questions beyond \"tell me about yourself,\" \"why this program,\" \"why PMR,\" or \"what are your hobbies?\" I feel like I haven't been getting much ethics/characteristics kind of questions. I can't tell if I'm yapping too much that the interviewers don't have time to ask me certain questions
havent really gotten the \"why PMR \" question. Most comment that my PS is really strong so they skip that question altogether. alot of times its been conversations about the city or rent since im intervieiwng in places that are way cheaper than my current COL // Oh nice! Good job on the strong PS!// similar situation, and good job on your PS! I get prefaced \"I know that your PS answers this, but it also has a different message when you hear from a person\"// -op to the comment here, wish i got to answer more in depth but alas only one Interviewer has asked me this question ! learning that IV's are all vibes and to not overthink what happens.
Been asked 1) What's a good characteristic for a student to have 2) Do you like football? LOL
At this point, the interviews are a personality match. All your extracurriculars, numbers, research, etc. have already been enough to get you the interview. They want to know if you'd fit in well for the next 3-4 years.//this! honestly my favorite part is when we have conversations about random hobbies on my app.
They asked me how to evaluate an SCI patient
lmaooo//That's brutal man, which program :o ?
I got asked what I would do if I was admitting a patient on IV dilaudid and an oral opioid and what services I would consult LOL
11/8 Anyone else not get an interview from their home program? Feels bad.
I don't have a home program, but didn't get an interview after one of my auditions and can resonate /: x2!!! I even got a letter from there // hang in there mate, we got this
It hurts - but we never know what they are looking for. It could be something as simple as don't have enough ratio of male / female, DO / MD, etc...
11/8
If anyone did an interview with Metro / Case Western, did they send you an itinerary before? I have a zoom link but no official schedule for interview day (I also filled out paperwork, etc)
nope you kinda find out day of. (also had to wait
in the waiting room until 7:45 to be let in // thank you so much for letting me know! Look in the thalamus schedule!
Can confirm for upcoming interviews your schedule will be presented to you by the program coordinator when you login in! The
interview day was nice
11/7
I’m curious: during audition rotations, is it reasonable to compare programs based on how faculty teach and how much autonomy they give students/residents? For example, one site may let residents perform procedures under supervision, while another offers far less hands-on exposure. Is this a fair way to evaluate programs?
Yes, but consider level of training. If you followed a bunch of PGY- 2 their readiness may not be what you'd see in an Pgy3-4
11/7
Anyone interview at HCA Sunrise yet? What was it like? Can you write your experience in the \"interview impressions tab\"? done
11/7
Can the mods add west virginia to the Interview offerdate tab?
11/7
Should we expect to receive rejections from all places not giving us an interview? Or are we expected to assume silence as a rejection a mix
11/6
Not to be rude, but cannot comment on the Name/Shame tab so dropping this here. Anyone else interview with SUNY Downstate yet? I felt like the PD was kind of rude? He only had one question which was \"why our program\" and after answering my reasons I said I'd love to know what he's proud of about the program. His reply \"Oh, you're the one who gets to ask the questions?\" Then proceeds to not have any more questions for me and hastily answered my remaining questions. BRO WHAT?!?! // this actually makes me want to cancel my interview with them lmfao // Honestly don't blame you because I was ready to walk out after I got done talking to him. Luckily the APD and faculty interviewers were so chill and funny
can we open up the name/shame tab? I need my daily name & shame tea // THIS// you need to ask the mod on discord
crazyyyyyy Name and shame is opennnn start her off///not for me
11/7 thoughts on starting a prelim/ ty invite and impression tab? could just copy and paste from what the derm sheet has already down Yes!!! x7
I literally only have 1 prelim-IM lol. Should I start sending emails or still wait? Unsure of the timeline with their categorical interviews, etc
11/6 Anyone already done with the interview from U Michigan that could give info? Have mine next week - what info are you hoping to hear more about? // General impressions
honestly, the best program vibe i've experienced so far! maybe it's a midwest thing but everyone is so genuinely kind and the staff seem super supportive. one of the residents said they had multiple family/personal issues during residency and the admin advocated for them to have the appropriate time off. i sent a thank you email to the PD and he sent a kind email back wishing me luck on my marathon :) lastly, who else gives a care package to all their interviewees with a free t-shirt and desserts?!
<< As a current UMich student, so happy to hear this. They really are the sweetest people. Happy you had a good experience!
11/5
Anyone know if Utah still has any spots left? Or if they send out in waves? Got an away scheduled for next year but don't know if it's a waste or not.
I appreciate any advice/insight!
<<
I emailed. Shayna.Caliman@Jefferson.edu but dont expect a reply tonight. i thought the pc was kayleene. washizaki@jefferson.edu but she redirected me to the above
For Utah, I would send them a polite email expressing continued interest and mention you have an away with them in January. I'm hoping they are sending more out. Have not heard about a rejection or waitlist but I sent them a LOI last week and got a response from the coordinator on 10/29 saying she'd forward it to the review committee. So maybe hope still?
<<< for utah? sorry im getting confused with the replies? I know interviews for auditions are never guarenteed but I was hoping they would interview in person and at least give the chance to see us in person (Yes for Utah)
hey there, my home program is Utah- I did a subi w them in Aug and we did not have in-person interviews during the sub-i! just want to help provide what to expect if/when you get to UT! //Would having a Sub-I in the later part of a cycle make a difference in whether you get an interview or not? // same person as initial response here -- tbh, unsure! they are pretty clear about not guaranteeing interviews for auditioning students- which is their policy even for home students- seems like an audition is a great foot in the door- but unsure how they factor in auditions vs not for sending out interviews! I did interview w them last week, but even that was virtual and a month post my sub-i
11/5 Any of the new moss invites having trouble signing up right now ? It says 1/15 is locked for me // update: she released the spots!
same here. pretty sure noting will be open till tomorrow morning. they sent the invites out so
late close to 7pm after hours. spots are open now-op
I emailed. Shayna.Caliman@Jefferson.edu but dont expect a reply tonight. i thought the pc was kayleene. washizaki@jefferson.edu but she redirected me to the above
Same happened to me
I had this same issue when 1st batch went out, they did not reply to any emails of mine for over two weeks. Recommend trying to call
they fixed it now! you should be able to sign up on thalamus
11/5 This is so not important but do any programs send any swaaaag after haha? my friend got a pen and a plushie in neuro Wait I want a plushie!!! Miami does UMICH sent a nice congrats on getting an interview post card.
11/5
I would love some input from people familiar with the southern programs. - Is Vandy still considered a lifestyle-poor program?
- Why is Emory missing a PGY-4? Was someone fired, quit, or position never filled?
- How would you rank Baylor, Emory, Vandy
//rank based on what? There's the doximity ranking but based on lifestyle?
11/3 Anyone know if Temple is doing a social before their interivew? i did not have a social before my interview x3
11/3 Am I out of hope if I got 3 interviews so far?
I have 3 too my friend / Hey friend how are you doing? I really hope we could make it through this process
You only need 1 program to match! I had a friend last cycle who had 2 derm IVs and matched her #2 (no audition)! We got this!
Friendly reminder "full per thalamus" does not mean the program is done sending invites. Keep up hope! Also 3 is better than none. You got this!
Also only have 3. Stay positive! Thanks a lot for advice and reminders!
Go look at the reddit link under this question! Really changed my view of the "magic number to match" thing and puts things in better perspective. I know a lot of stories of people matching with just 1-3 or 4 ranks. You got this! / I read it thanks to your comment and got relieved a lot. Really appreciate it!
11/3 is 11 still the goal interview number to get an "almost guaranteed" match? Understanding contiguous ranking : r/pmr <- Amazing thread, thank you so much!
11/3 Is HCA Florida Healthcare/USF Morsani College of Medicine GME Program Blake Hospital full? No it is not I belive their last three dates Nov-Dec still have interview slots
Is it worth it to send letters of interest to signaled programs who have not yet granted an interview to me but have sent out interviews? I tried, no one responded/didn't help I think it can't hurt though at this point? Might as well? Sent one last night, got a response that they are no longer extending interviews :(
I sent out a LOI and got an interview invite the same day at one of my top programs - shoot your shot! Just make sure the email is genuine and not generic (they can sniff that!) What program was that responded? I sent to all of mine and no one responded.
11/3 Guys, is this the end? haha I think so buddy, I think so // :'( NY and chicago programs arent done yet
11/3 Does anyone know when the other New York programs plan on releasing interviews?x2
11/3 Anyone know which programs don't require interviews for those with auditons?
I know Emory tends to do the interview at the end of the audition
11/2 anyone know if Upenn is doing resident socials before interview days?//x2 yeah, they scheduled one the night before, for me. It was only an hour. Super casual
thank you. have an interview thursday but havent seen any links prior to it so just wanted to confirm!
11/1
I know it is saturday night but I just wanted to let you guys know that we got this and hopefully all of us match into this amazing speciality :) (even though im still waiting for interviews and dying inside)+2
<3 thank you stranger
10/31
if someone had an interview and felt it went well, could you please share what indicated that it was going well? did the interviewers say something reassuring?? did it seem less stressful and more conversational???
Have only had one interview completed so far. Spoke with the PD, 2 faculty, and the chief resident. What made me think it went well with the PD was we were just chatting about the most random things and then she goes...oh I guess I have to ask you these standard questions. So that was nice! And with the chief he kept saying how similar he thought I was to him and our stories. So that's what I took away from it but who actually knows.
I recently interviewed with my home program (so its a little different bc we know each other well) and it was still relatively formal. I left feeling like I spent 3 hours talking with friends and mentors instead of a stiff interview. I felt like my answers were genuine and were really well received, and by the end of the session my face hurt from smiling and laughing so much with the residents!
10/31anyone know if Spaulding, Baylor, and/or Mt Sinai are still sending out interviews? at least give me a rejection lol spaulding is done why would they reject people when they can stroke their egos with all of the LOIs they would get otherwise? /s +1 Mt Sinai is sending out interviews in batches per current residents
10/31
Just a hunch but with step 1 going pass/fail, USMD applicants to more competitive specialties (ie: NSGY, derm, ophtho) are being told to ramp up their publication numbers and thus take a research year. At my school, a couple of years ago, only 2-3 people took a research year. In my class, 10 people are taking a research year.
10/31quick question is anyone sending out thank you letters after an interview that thought just came to mind but i dont know if it is worth it yes unless explicitly told not to
I've had some people say not to and that it won't help or hurt. Anyone else have any more thoughts on this? Also, if I wasn't told during the interview not to, is there another place I could look where they would indicate not liking them? Would love to send to programs I loved but also don't want to DNR myself
10/31Hi all, wondering if Mossrehab still has interview spots open. Would appreciate any information, thank you so much~
all full when i checked yesterday// could you please say what the last interview dates were? someone from there told me they were releasing in batches
PC at AAPMR said they were still going through applications // that's good to hear. thank you!
thanks guys. praying for us remaining who are waiting hear good news soon! -op
10/31Heard back from UF and only date available for interview is 12/3. Looking to swap UF or Memorial Healthcare interview date (12/3). Open to pretty much any other interview date for both. I'm really interested in both programs.
looking for any help I can get! hit me up: anonymousrabbit120@gmail.com Wish I could help, but my interview with UF is also 12/3 <- thanks no worries
10/31has Stanford sent anything out??? Nope they just did today
10/31Nothing like waking up to a rejection :)))) Just got one from Shirley Ryan :') // saammee
I'm grateful that I am at 5 interviews but all of these rejection letters and silence from other programs is really starting to get my morale low // LOL me and my friends keep doing \"morale\" checks every day I love you commented this
10/30
2025 MD applicants = 21,875. 2026 MD applicants = 20,744. Why such a massive drop? Are people failing or wtf?! IMG applicants are down to 18,802 from 20,756 last year; at least that makes sense because of Trump. But wtf? why are all apps overall so down??? Someone know?!?!?!?
There are still more Monty (as of 10/31) Mount Sinai's PD said they're not yet done reviewing applications
got one from Monte this morning after LOI! // did PD or anyone respond to the LOI?*2 Is srand@montefiore.org the PD’s email? No read/response yet—maybe it’s the wrong address?// that's the email I used. No response from the PD just the thalamus
interview notification / Thanks!!
IMG going down makes sense with trump. Also 2025 match for IMG's in PM&R was among the lowest among all specialties (bottom 5)
10/30
I havent heard anything for weeks....glad it isnt just me
I have only heard from 2 TY programs, never though I would be having to send LOI to TY programs at this point
Yeah I haven't heard much either:( really holding onto someone having said a lot get sent later. I also hear you don't need to rank as many TY/prelims to match/// how many prelims/ty have u heard u need to rank to match? also sitting on only 2 prelim invites
:(
Idk apparently this is normal and most don't send out until November? I've also only gotten 1 interview from a TY at this point and applied to 19. Have not heard anythingggg from the other 18
I've reached out to a couple prelims and the ones that have responded all said they're still reviewing categoricals/interviewing them so prelims would be later
See I want to believe this is the case, but then why are multiple TY/prelim programs already full (via thalamus). Its making me nervous.
I was sitting on 0 TY/ 0 prelim interviews and finally just got one today so I think there will be waves
10/30another day of staring at my email hoping i see an interview invite. mood Why is it so quiet…. TOO QUIET very very quiet Q U I E T Crickets
10/29It kind of sucks now that places are interviewing. Got an interview invite in the middle of one of my interviews... Why does this suck? I'd be so happy haha Wish I has this problem ugh i hate when that happens to me /s The worst is when you have to withdraw from a program midinterview with a PD because you got one from your top program Damn ya'lls strugglies I can't relate to LOL
10/29im confused, the target to match (with a grain of salt) is now 8 instead of 12- 13?
honestly i wont feel confident until i match regardless of how many invites I have Not many people match 9-13 on their ranklist. I'd interview at 12-13 if you get that many. But don't freak out if you don't.
10/29 USMD with no interviews at this point. Kind of freaking out. Any advice as to what I should do if anything? Thanks // Have you sent any LOIs?
< Sorry to hear this! Some context may help. Any red flags? Did you apply to a lot of top heavy programs aka what's your signal spread? How many of your signaled schools remain?
10/29 Not to be a Debbie Downer lol but it kinda feels like that first big wave of invites already happened. Other than the few programs that haven’t sent yet, I feel like it’s gonna be pretty slow from here on out. Please tell me I’m wrong
That's how I'm starting to feel too. But all we can do is cross our fingers and trust the process. A few scattered letters of interest may help!///Bro I sent out so many and got silenced on all of them
I have only sent 2 and heard back from 1 so I guess that's 50:50 lol
are you sending to PC or PD?
10/29
1) Thalamus being down is crazyyyy. Rip to those who have interviews. 2) Just heard back from a program I sent a letter of interest to. Have heard most people don't reply to these. Has anyone had luck with sending one and getting an interview from that program after?
I've only gotten one reply from a program and all they told me was they were still reviewing applications lol // Okay that's good news for you! They told me thanks and they'd send it to the review committee. Fingers crossed for us!
Yeah I sent multiple and I was left on read for all of them
I ended up getting an interview at a program after sending one! Have had 2 other programs respond and otherwise haven't heard// You don't have to name drop if you don't want to, but who responded to you!?!? / got responses from 2 west coast programs and 1 northeast so I think they definitely do read it even if they may not respond!
< That's amazing you got an interview after sending one! Not sure if they already wanted you or if that letter sent you over the edge, either way congrats!
10/29 Anyone have any tea on when NYP is sending theirs out? Or like when they will be interviewing? Anything...?
I just heard \"they're still reviewing applications and will send out interviews via thalamus\" as of 10/21
10/29 Is thalamus down for anyone else? Got an invite just now (11:40AM EST) and can't log in Yes, cannot access Thalamus x5 Apparently all servers currently down: https://www. thalamusgme.com/status What about interviews that we have I need to access the link for?
A program that used thalamus sent me another email giving the link there
Seems to be working again!// I can log on now, but all of my interviews are erased and I can't see them< update, works well now
10/28
Some of these low-tier programs have an interesting strategy based on the number of interviews they have offered historically. 20-30 is so low!! Are they trying to go unfilled??
!!!!!
10/28
Trying to add applicant data and the last few rows aren't filling out the same as the top ones in terms of format and the default calculations. If this can be fixed, I'll be happy to add my info // went ahead and added info but format is wrong and some boxes not populated so just leaving it there
same for interview counter tab ;/
10/28 Guys pookie is getting nervous over here. Only a few programs left that haven't sent out initial invites. Our average is sitting at 8 invites. Are we cooked?! lol Maybe it'll take fewer to rank to match this year because of the signal change?
In theory it should, i pray it has dropped to 7-8 though lol which would be drastic Dont worry pookie, we are all in this together // <3
im confused, the target to match (with a grain of salt) is now 8 instead of 12-13?
10/28 Can more people add to applicant data hehe? It's a little sparse? x2222222 Will do once moderators fix whatever is going on with that tab unless I'm just dumb Seems to be normal when I type?
I went ahead and added my info but no it's not normal, different font in some boxes and populating wrong with percentages not being calculated.
You have to pull down teh calculation from the percentage column from the prior row. Looks like someone figured it out though. And for the font I feel like we can just change that ourselves? 10/28 Anyone know if New Mexico will send out anymore interviews? I have a Sub-I in Jan but haven't received an interview invite yet and am wondering if I should email them.
I would email the coordinator. He's great. I interviewe d with them early October and when I signed up they only had 3 interview date options which was so much less than other programs so I assumed they would open up more later for other applicants? PD is also super friendly if you want to email her.// Thank you!
Can you please let me know what they say cause i've emailed and have gotten no reply :( Previous comment below on 10/26 says \"I heard they are still revewing apps. \"
10/28 Is Baylor full by any chance? x3
10/28 I saw some Schwab rejections went out but have any interviews yet? Interviews just went out (10/28) what if they didnt send me an interview or rejection.... was this through Thalamus? -- any open spots left? 10/27 Are there any more spots open for UW Madison? 10/27 Is there anymore spots open for UCF?HCA Pensacola? There's still spots open on Thalamus!
10/27 Has anyone else feel like they got most of their interviews end of Sep/early Oct? And its been oddly quiet the past two weeks x2
It's been waves for me. A few in early October, then a week of quiet. Then a few more trickle in. Now back to silence lol I HATE IT
Seeing all these interviews going out to places I signaled and radio silence the last two weeks..... RIP Got 3 interview invites in early October from signals, then radio silence since then... very frustrating 10/27 Anyone know when we may hear from MUSC x2 Also wanted to know!
10/27 Question for anyone who interviewed at Burke PM&R: Was there a pre-interview social? Also, other programs asked for an NRMP eligibility attestation form; does Burke not require one? Thanks! not for my interview day // Thank you!! No pre-interview social and no eligibility attestation form from them! // Thanks!! Hey can I jump into this question raw? Do you happen to remember around what time the interview was?
Mine was scheduled from 10:30 to 2:30 but then it was done in groups so they had an intro and then I was allowed to leave and come back around 1ish for interviews from 1:15 to 2:15 and then closing // thanks so much!
Is Burke full? It's not through thalamus so unsure. Invites are sent via email
10/27 how important do we feel research has been for these PM&R applications?
based on admit.org, pretty important. i feel like a lot of my advisors misguided me on how important research was. // same, I barely have any :(
>>>>What ive never heard of admit.org?? // you should check it out! it lets you track program ranks, your interviews, and lets you see when programs are sending out interviews live!
I feel like it mattered a little more than expected. I am definitely not the strongest applicant overall, but I have done a good amount of research and I think its helped me get some solid interview opportunities this season
Agreed that it mattered more than I expected. Got interviews at pretty big name institutions despite a weaker STEP 2 I don't think I would have gotten without the research. // I'm opposite where I have good grades/step but no research, so I don't have as many interviews at top places
It seems like it's being viewed as just another metric for showing commitment to the field. Hard to say how its weighed but like others have mentioned, I am a pretty average applicant boards- wise and have no business getting some of the invites I've gotten.
It may be the research. Had several solid PM&R-related pubs/presentations. It wasn't anything really exciting but I wonder if it just adds to showing that one is \"all in.\"
It's frustrating because there are applicants that are all in that don't have research. Most medical student \"research\" is just literature bloat anyway.
I wish it was about being a good resident like it used to be and not pumping out research for these programs.
dont have much research (1 published, 1 poster submitted (PMR) 2 manuscripts in progress that the school wont fund to publish have some pretty big interviews i wasnt expecting but didnt go crazy on my research
10/26 Does anyone know if UNM is still sending out invites? The PD was at AAPM&R, was anyone able to talk with her? I am still waiting too :/ x2 Does anyone know if it is actually full?// Has anyone emailed and asked?
I heard they are still revewing apps. // Thank you
10/24 what does it mean when people say that slots are full based off of thalamus? x2
Interview dates don't have anymore available spots I'm assuming // Does that mean there will be no more interview invites sent out unless someone drops an interview? x3/ not necessarily
it all depends on if a program released all spots or only a few per date etc
Yeah I just disregard when they say it's full based on thalamus, sometimes PD will reiterate that it's not actually full//thank you!!!
10/23 Anyone else getting no interview invites from their safety net programs, yet getting better odds for their mid/high tier programs? So odd
Got an interview at Northwestern (did not think I was going to get one from them at all), then silence from essentially almost all of my other signals... so odd.<<<<< well heck ya!
Yup, I've only been getting invites from places I signaled and I didn't signal as many safeties. Worried my rank list might be too mid/top heavy
same here.
10/23 It's quiet today...too quiet
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!>>>> Prob because of AAPMR. Doubt we will hear anything today or tomorrow
10/23 @ Mods - The tier list on doximity page is really strange. A lot of weird stratification that seems arbitrary without supporting data from residency explorer, doximity ranking and/or J4Pack’s APD tier list on SDN. Seeing similar comments from 9/3 down below. No previous years had this list, maybe remove it to eliminate biases?
It's definitely one person's extremely subjective ranking and shouldn't be presented as anything other than that, it's very odd
The list is downright comical lol
10/22 Who is putting the filter on the interview offerdate tab? Can we please take that off Do you mean the filter that shows what programs offered interviews for the current day? No its fixed, someone was messing around with how many programs were displayed by state // Everyone...NO TOUCHY lol<<<<
10/22 Does anyone know what the likelihood of being taken off of a waitlist is for PM&R residencies? Low
If being on the waitlist doesn’t really mean much, does that mean PM&R programs rarely send invites after November since it seems like most interview invitations are sent out by November?
10/22 Anyone have any updates regarding USF? I also have not heard great things from years past, so genuinely curious
they don't rank you unless you rotate there. I met some residents at a conference a couple years ago and they had a \"holier than thou\" attitude. also the lack of diversity in their residency class is concerning.-->
That is so incredibly frustrating, I grew up in Tampa but do not go to school in the state. The amount of times I reached out saying I was interested in an audition and they dragged me along the entire time to deny me.
Oh I guess I wasted my signal...///SAMEEEE // same omg I have been waiting to hear back/// RIP to our signal LMAO. Might be saving us in the long run tho Might have to apply to HCA bradenton if you want to be in that area
10/22 Anyone know if the University of Texas at Austin is full? Anyone know if the University of Texas at Austin is full? // per thalamus, they are full (no open interview slots)
10/22 I checked the 2024 NRMP charting outcomes document, and it looks like for a 90% chance of matching, you need 11-12 ranks. For a 95% chance of matching, you need 14-15 ranks. Should we expect this to change with the signal increase this year?
PM&R advice to applicants | Student Doctor Network <-- read this review re: signals, number of ranks//tldr: the ideal number is 8 ranks
10/22 Anyone know if prelim/TYs invites tend to get sent out more a little later and if they wind up interviewing later in the season?
Have heard they take some time, most in November/December? I've got 1 TY so far and haven't heard from others. 2 of my PM&R invites have offered interviews with their prelim programs on interview day as well.
Sorry like they start to send in Nov/Dec or we'd be interviewing during Nov/Dec? Or both. So hard to fit everyhting in with rotations ahhh // Start to send is what I heard!
10/21 Has Louisville filled out their slots? Never got anything from them despite them saying they were sending interviews on the 3rd
I also haven't gotten anything. Figured when they said \"decisions\" that would mean sending out invites and rejections. Dont want to give false hope here but as of 10/24, there is an open slot on Thalamus
10/21 Does anyone know if Umich have a WL? I got the rejection today but wondering if I didn't make it into WL or if it was sent to everybody not included in the interview list
Yes, they have a waitlist - was notified of WL status today // Thanks, it's bittersweet. Good luck!
10/21 Would it be possible to add a column to the interview counter/applicant data sheets for # of interviews from signaled vs non-signaled programs? Although too late for us lol, could be helpful data for future years and how the 20 signals has affected this year’s process
<
10/21lol I got the sweetest rejection letter from university of michigan. can't complain lol +2 agree, but still complaining lol x3 As a UoM med student, that's so on par for them. <3 Good luck, keep going! // thank you!
10/21Anyone know if any of the following programs have filled all their interview slots or if they will have more batches come out? UVA, UConn, UNC, ECU, Wisconsin (Madison)
<
10/20It's a nail biter, some of my main programs have yet to release any interviews! Same, including one I did an away at and I just need them to send out the invites already lol
10/20Has anyone heard about Schwab/UChicago invites? Are they full // i don't think they've even started? Radio silence // x5 // got rejected today (10/27)
10/20
