Is [this] gem good?
This list serves to answer your questions as to when a certain gem is good. Many
of you will not have the perfect setup for your gem on equipment, and as such, this will
help you know when you should use what gem, what a certain gem has usage for, and if
a certain gem is good enough to even be usable. Note that XX just means that there is
a number, and it may vary depending on gem rarity.
This post in #faq serves to answer the following questions:
"What gems should I use?"
"Is this gem any good?"
"What uses does this gem have?"
...and so on
If you feel like any of these are your questions about gems, or you're confused on how
to use them, this guide can serve to answer your questions.
How do you navigate this post properly? The main method to do so is to break your
specific gem that you are looking for down into categories.

Global ATK +XX%
● PvE: S-Tier ● PvP: S-Tier
Generally one of the best gems out there and universally good, there is literally no place that you would not benefit from an increase in Global ATK. If you need more attack, then you should use the gem. Even if you do not feel like you need more damage, you will still benefit from an increase in damage, so you should run this gem 90% of the time.
Normal ATK DMG Boost +XX%
● PvE: C-Tier ● PvP: C-Tier
Many consider this one of the worst gems that you can get; however, there are some conditions that you must fulfill if you want this gem to be really good. You must either be running Blade of Justice or Helos Warblade or be an extremely new player to the point where skill damage isn’t the majority of your damage for it to be A-Tier. If you do not fulfill either of these conditions, then the gem won’t be that good for you.
Combo DMG Boost +XX%
● PvE: C-Tier ● PvP: C-Tier
For the vast majority of players, this gem will be highly irrelevant; however, if you’re running Helos Warblade, then this is probably one of the best gems that you can get (S-Tier), as it vastly increases your combo damage, which is one of your primary sources of damage. If you run Helos Warblade, you should have it slotted almost all the time, as it just acts as another consistent damage boost. If you’re not running Helos Warblade, then the gem practically does nothing.
Counter DMG Boost +XX%
● PvE: C-Tier ● PvP: C-Tier
Good if one of your primary sources of damage is counterattacking, which it is for most counter weapons, in which it becomes A Tier.. Note that you shouldn’t really run this gem if you don’t have a high counterattack rate or deal a vast majority of your damage from counterattacking. Skills that spawn from the counterattack do not count as counterattack damage, so do not mix that up.
Physical DMG Boost +XX%
● PvE: C-Tier ● PvP: C-Tier
A lot of you are confused about what physical damage itself is, and to say how good this gem is, we first must know what physical damage is. Physical damage is damage from daggers, sword aura, and light spears, so if any of your primary sources of damage (or even a good chunk of your damage) are from those three, then this gem is going to be good for you. It becomes A-tier for weapons like SS/Ailoren, and Whisperer.
Lightning DMG Boost +XX%
● PvE: C-Tier ● PvP: C-Tier
If you spawn a lot of lightning on your build, whether it be through lightning daggers, judgement rings, or the basic summoning of lightning bolts itself, this gem will be good for you. If not, then it won’t be that good for you. For example, this gem is really good on weapons like Whisperer or Reaper Staff (at A-Tier), but nothing amazing for a weapon like Durian or Skysplitter.
Fire DMG Boost +XX%
● PvE: C-Tier ● PvP: C-Tier
Not really that good for any build; however, it can be pretty decent for builds like Sharp Rogue + Skyflame Whisperer or Star Staff. Note that it isn’t really that good and doesn’t have many uses.
Explosion DMG Boost +XX%
● PvE: D-Tier ● PvP: D-Tier
While we are not sure what exactly Explosion DMG is, this gem is only relevant for skills in Abyss that deal this type of DMG. For bosses where this DMG can be helpful, you can use this, but only if you lack anything better.
Final DMG Boost +XX%
● PvE: S-Tier ● PvP: S-Tier
One of the best gems in the game, similar to Global ATK, you will almost never not need more damage, so you should almost always run this gem. Final DMG is applied after all other forms of DMG.
DoT Duration +1, DoT DMG +XX%
● PvE: D-Tier ● PvP: F-Tier
Not really that strong; for most damage-over-time builds like Star Staff or Shadow Lance, you can consistently apply the damage-over-time effect and be capable of replenishing it to max stacks. You should almost never nerf your main form of damage if you are capable of consistently outputting damage; for other weapons, it isn’t much to think about, and you shouldn’t really use them—they aren’t that great.
DMG vs Boss +XX%
● PvE: A-Tier ● PvP: N/A-Tier
Good in general if you know you’re going to fight a boss, like in Chapters or in Seal Battle/Guild Raid; if you’re curious about what counts as a boss, you can know just by seeing if it dies to Frozen Touch or not.
When casting a skill, has a XX% chance to ignore 50% of the
enemy's DMG reduction effect
● PvE: F-Tier ● PvP: S-Tier
This gem halves all of a player's combined Damage Reduction, i.e., [Skill DMG Reduction]/[Basic Attack DMG Reduction] + [Damage Reduction], which makes it one of the best gems in the entire game for PvP and for PvE scenarios where monsters may have damage reduction.
Output DMG fluctuates randomly between -20% and XX%
● PvE: B-Tier ● PvP: A/B-Tier
Really good gem, as it's just a consistent damage increase; however, you should only use it if you have it at least at legendary rarity; otherwise, you’ll have a high chance of losing damage when you use it. If you're capped on the [%DmgModifiers] bracket in damage calculations, then this gem is considerably worse for you, as you will not fluctuate upwards and will only experience a damage loss. This gem affects the [%DmgModifiers] bracket, not [FinalDmg] or [GlobalDmg], so it is not that great.
Normal ATK has XX% chance to deal 2x DMG
● PvE: S+ Tier ● PvP: S+ Tier
Best in slot if your primary source of damage is normal attacks, i.e., Blade of Justice/Helos Warblade; however, even if you're not a Helos Warblade/Blade of Justice user, this gem is still one of the best gems in the entire game due to the fact that most builds can have a good amount of normal attack damage; therefore, if you have a good amount of damage from normal attacks on any weapon, then it is an insane damage increase that will nearly double your damage output for that specific category. This is because the gem does not affect itself by merely adding to the current damage calculations; it doubles the ending damage that you output. With countless sources of in-battle damage amping up your normal attacks and adventurers based on normal attacks entering the meta, this gem is one of the best, if not the best, gems in the entire game.
Sword Qi True DMG ATK cap multiplier +XX
● PvE: C-Tier ● PvP: C-Tier
Not as bad as some people say, it’s generally pretty good and not useless; however, if you do not have a mythical skysplitter, it’s worthless. Use it if you don’t have anything better and you have a mythical skysplitter. This is also more suited towards those who aren’t late game SS-wise, as the Sword Qi damage becomes negligible as you acquire other sources of damage. This gem does not work if you have Blood Shadow-Ailoren Sword; it only works on the regular version of Skysplitter.
Deals +XX% DMG to targets with >70% HP
● PvE: B-Tier ● PvP: B-Tier
Generally good; however, it’s exceptionally good if you’re going to fight a boss that has a ridiculously high amount of health, like the Tier 30 Two-Headed Bird, the Seal Boss, or any event bosses like the one in the TMNT Crossover event.
Each Combo hit deals additional Combo DMG equal to X% of the
target's Max HP, up to X times per turn, capped at XX× ATK.
● PvE: F-Tier ● PvP: F-Tier
Not that good, but it is not that bad either. If you’re super early game, this is probably one of the better gems in the game; however, it fades into obscurity later on. It’s not a bad chunk of damage, but it is not a good chunk of damage either. Use it if you have nothing better to use.
On Counter, deal additional DMG equal to X% of the target's Max
HP, up to X times per turn, capped at XX× ATK.
● PvE: F-Tier ● PvP: F-Tier
If you have a high counterattack rate, whether it be through Slime King, your weapon, or any other sources, then the gem could be decent for you; however, it's not a sizable chunk of damage, and you shouldn’t use it if you have better gems to use.
On Critical Hit, deal additional DMG equal to X% of the target's
Max HP, once per turn, capped at XX× ATK.
● PvE: F+-Tier ● PvP: F-Tier
Pretty bad in comparison to the other combo attack true damage and counterattack true damage gems; use it if you have nothing better to use, as even though it isn’t a large damage increase, it is still a damage increase.
Every 3 daggers additionally trigger 1 Rage Dagger, restoring 15
Rage, up to X times per turn, and increases the hero's dagger
DMG by +XX%
● PvE: S-Tier ● PvP: B-Tier
Really good if you’re a Whisperer user or use any weapon that utilizes daggers or any weapon in general that will benefit from increased rage with some sort of method to throw any amount of daggers. If you’re a Whisperer user, you should use this gem all the time, and if you’re not, the gem will be really good for you still as long as you have some sort of method to consistently throw daggers, i.e., the Zhanxian Flying Knife deployment skill or the Fantasy Joker brand. Best in slot for Whisperer users and Skysplitter users who are using Fantasy Joker, considerably increases your rage generation, and provides an insane damage boost.
Lightning hitting a burning target has a XX% chance to paralyze
the target (unable to Counter)
● PvE: C-Tier ● PvP: C-Tier
Not bad if you know you’re going to fight a target that has counterattacks primarily, like a Durian/Mushroom Hammer user or any sort of monster that has a high counterattack rate.
Every 2 Light Spear shots cast 1 Shield Shot, adds XX% shield,
max X/turn
● PvE: C-Tier ● PvP: C-Tier
Decent if you still need a shield for survivability and you can consistently activate light spears; if not, it’s pretty worthless.
Upon entering a stage, immediately choose 1 skill (effective in
Main Story and Abyss), increases DMG by +XX%
● PvE: S-Tier ● PvP: N/A-Tier
One of the best gems out there… if you’re planning to play the main story or the abyssal realm mode. If you’re not, it’s pretty bad.
After Countering, increases the hero's ATK by +XX% for 2 turns
● PvE: C-Tier ● PvP: C-Tier
Best in slot for counterattack-based builds and players (S-tier for them), it can be utilized even if you are not maining a counterattack weapon; however, there are better alternatives to use in the weapon slot if you do not have a high counterattack rate.
At the start of battle, steals XX% of the enemy's ATK power, not
exceeding XX% of the hero's own ATK power, lasting 5 turns
● PvE: S-Tier ● PvP: S-Tier
Best in slot because of how damage is calculated. Since it acts as its own multiplicative bracket, it considerably increases your attack power, and even at lower rarities like legendary, the gem itself is borderline equivalent to tyrant's attack power boost on its own.
Helos Warblade Normal ATK Coefficient +XX%
● PvE: C-Tier ● PvP: C-Tier
Best in slot for Helos Warblade users (S-Tier), F tier if you don't use it.
Blood Shadow Ailoren Sword Sword Qi DMG Coefficient +XX%
● PvE: C-Tier ● PvP:C-Tier
Good for Ailoren sword users; however, there are better alternative gems you can utilize (A-Tier). F-tier if you do not use Ailoren.
ThornSeles' Suffering Thorn Shield DMG Coefficient +X%
● PvE: C-Tier ● PvP: C-Tier
Good for mailbox users (A-Tier), F tier if you don't use it.
Divine Thunder Nashir's Scepter Electric Shield +X%
● PvE: C-Tier ● PvP: C-Tier
Good for Nashir players (B-Tier), F tier if you don't use it.

Basic Attack Damage Reduction +XX%
● PvE: B-Tier ● PvP: B-Tier If you need basic attack damage reduction to survive in PvE, then this gem is still pretty good for you. It can be decent in PvP as well in certain situations where you may be building against someone who has a lot of basic attack damage or combo damage.
Global HP +XX%
● PvE: A-Tier ● PvP: A-Tier
Just an increase in health; if you need health, then use it. Swap it out if you want to for another damage-increasing gem for scenarios where you take no damage, like certain event bosses or Seal Battle.
Global DEF +XX%
● PvE: F-Tier ● PvP: F-Tier
Useless; defense itself as a stat does borderline nothing, so increasing it also has a negligible effect.
Speed +XX
● PvE: D-Tier ● PvP: A-Tier
One of the best gems. Universally applicable to all scenarios where you may need speed; however, if your speed is a lot faster than the enemies’, then you can swap it out for another damage-increasing gem.
Final DMG Reduction +XX%
● PvE: S-Tier ● PvP: S-Tier
One of the best gems to go for if you need reduction. This type of reduction is calculated after all other reductions have been applied, just before damage is applied to your HP.
Normal ATK DMG Reduction +XX%
● PvE: C-Tier ● PvP: D-Tier
Use it if you are lacking Basic Attack DMG Reduction for your build or whatever the cap is. Generally pretty good, but the gem itself is useless if you already have max Basic Attack DMG Reduction for whatever you’re doing.
Combo DMG Reduction +XX%
● PvE: B-Tier ● PvP: B-Tier
Not that good since it only applies to the damage that comes from a combo attack itself, not the skills that are born from that combo attack, or anything of the sort. It’s decent if you intend to specifically fight a Blade of Justice user; however, if you’re not, the gem is pretty bad.
Counter DMG Reduction +XX%
● PvE: C-Tier ● PvP: C-Tier
Pretty good for fighting other players since you’re able to reduce the damage that Knight of the End deals to you as he deals counter damage, and he deals a lot of it. So if you know that someone’s Knight of the End is going to deal a lot of damage to you, then you can run this gem to reduce the amount of damage you’re going to take from it.
Physical DMG Reduction +XX%
● PvE: C-Tier ● PvP: C-Tier
Decently good against most Skysplitter & Whisperer users due to most of their damage being innately physical attacks, so if you want to fight those specific users, then you can slot this gem to slightly decrease the amount of damage you’ll take from their sword chi and daggers, respectively.
Lightning DMG Reduction +XX%
● PvE: C-Tier ● PvP: C-Tier
It’s good for fighting against most players since almost everyone runs Judgement Ring or Reaper Staff, so if you’re wanting to fight against them, you can slot this gem in. It is also decently good for certain scenarios in PvE, like when you’re fighting the second wave of enemies in XX6 chapters, where the blue knight spawns in the tiny lightning bolt.
Fire DMG Reduction +XX%
● PvE: F-Tier ● PvP: F-Tier
Not good. Use it if an enemy is killing you through burn damage.
Ignore Counter rate +XX%
● PvE: C-Tier ● PvP: C-Tier
Decently good for fighting against specific players who are reliant on the counter rate to output their damage, use it if you want to specifically fight against one of those players. These players would be Durian/Mushroom Hammer users, Shadow Lance users, or anyone whose build revolves primarily around counter rate.
Ignore Combo rate +XX%
● PvE: D-Tier ● PvP: A-Tier
Insanely good for fighting against specific players who are reliant on the combo rate to output their damage, use it if you want to specifically fight against one of those players. These players would be Whisperer, Helos Warblade/Blade of Justice, and Skysplitter users, or anyone whose build revolves primarily around combo rate. If you stack up multiple of these gems, you will destroy anyone who does not have high enough combo rate to counter you.
Ignore Crit rate +XX%
● PvE: D-Tier ● PvP: S-Tier
Insanely good for PvP in general, use it all the time under the condition that you can gather more sources of ignore crit rate to reduce your opponent's critical rate to a small margin. If you stack up multiple of these gems, you will destroy anyone who does not have high enough crit rate to even deal enough damage to tickle you.
Control Immunity rate +XX%
● PvE: D-Tier ● PvP: A-Tier
Many mistake this for its popular counterpart, Ignore Control Immunity; this gem isn’t that good unless you just want to use it for PvP, and even then, it isn’t that great since many players have high Ignore Control Immunity, so unless you stack up multiple of these gems, they won't really do anything major; however, it has viable usage in PvP as long as you have a lot of them.
Ignore Control Immunity rate +XX%
● PvE: S--Tier ● PvP: S-Tier
One of the best gems in the game; if you run an icy bubble, you should use this gem. All endgame enemies have high control immunity, so this helps with CC-ing them. It's not universally good since other gems that provide a better damage boost can be used in favor of this gem; however, it's still very good if you're early game and don't have a lot of freeze chance. Also increase freeze chance in PvP
Combo Count +1, Combo DMG ±XX%
● PvE: S+ Tier ● PvP: S+ Tier
One of the most desirable gems in the game. Adds to your max combo count. The decrease in combo damage is not that significant for the vast majority of builds even if your primary source of damage is combo damage or basic attacks (i.e., you're using Helos Warblade/Blade of Justice). The reason this is because the negative combo damage affects the [%DmgModifiers] bracket of damage calculations, which is heavily supplemented by pet builds and other effects, so the reduction is minimal. This gem is one of the best and should be utilized by almost every build.
Dagger DMG Coefficient +X%
● PvE: C-Tier ● PvP: C-Tier
Good if you’re a Whisperer user (A-Tier); if you’re not, it’s not that good unless you are also capable of throwing a lot of daggers like Whisperer users.
Lightning DMG Coefficient +X%
● PvE: C-Tier ● PvP: C-Tier
This gem is decent if you’re a Reaper Staff user or a Whisperer user since they both throw a lot of lightning; note that if you’re a Whisperer user, you should only use this gem in modes that you can get skills in since you’ll be reliant on the lightning dagger. It can also be very good for whisperer users under the condition that lightning charge appears as a skill and you have other supplementation like multiple bolts; however, if you don't have these skills, it's not that great.
Burn DMG Coefficient +X%
● PvE: F-Tier ● PvP: F-Tier
Useless
Light Spear DMG Coefficient +X%
● PvE: F-Tier ● PvP: F-Tier
It’s generally pretty useless or will only provide you with a minimal damage increase unless you can throw a lot of light spears.
Combo DMG Coefficient +XX%
● PvE: C-Tier ● PvP: C-Tier
Insanely good if you’re a Blade of Justice user (A tier, leaning S); if not, the gem is borderline useless.
Counter DMG Coefficient +XX%
● PvE: C-Tier ● PvP: C-Tier
Good if your build is something that is reliant on counterattack damage itself for the vast majority of your damage; if your build is not something like that, then it’ll be pretty useless.
Rage Skill DMG Coefficient +XX%
● PvE: S-Tier ● PvP: S-Tier
S-Tier for most players that have a sizeable chunk of damage from their rage attack since it is multiplicative to all damage that your rage attack deals. This is especially best in slot for Whisperer users and Ailoren sword users who are utilizing their rage generation build, as it massively increases the amount of damage you output on a rage attack.
Immune to first X instances of DMG, increases heros final DMG
reduction by +X%
● PvE: S-Tier ● PvP: A-Tier
This gem is beyond crazy for PvE. It is also useful outside of PvE, where you might need to tank a hit that you would otherwise not survive. In later chapters where monsters deal upwards of 10x your health every attack, this gem is one of the only ways to survive. Keep in mind, it’s the first instance of damage; don’t expect it to last a whole turn. However, if you have consistently high freeze rates, whether that be through Ghost Princess, Ignore Control Immunity gems, or Icy Bubbles, then you can make that immunity to the first instance of damage last for almost the entire fight.
Immune to first X control effects, increases hero’s control
immunity rate by +X%
● PvE: C-Tier ● PvP: S-Tier
This is a good gem for PvP and for Abyss, not so much outside of these places. Prevents you from potentially being frozen/stunned/paralyzed.
Deals +XX% DMG to targets with >70% HP
● PvE: A-Tier ● PvP: B-Tier
Generally good; however, it’s exceptionally good if you’re going to fight a boss that has a ridiculously high amount of health, like the Tier 30 Two-Headed Bird, the Seal Boss, or any event bosses like the one in the TMNT Crossover event.
For every 1 skill learned, global DMG +1%, up to XX%
● PvE: S-Tier ● PvP: N/A-Tier
This gem is good for anywhere you pick a skill (Chapters, Dungeon Dive, Guild Raid/Seal Battle, and Abyss). Nice damage increase, but don’t use outside of these areas.
Normal ATK have a X% chance to stun
● PvE: A-Tier ● PvP: A-Tier
This gem is good only if you're using an adventurer like Raphael or Leonardo that increases the CC chance for stun from this gem and from Pig Smash; however, if you're not using those adventurers, you can still benefit from this gem as long as it's paired with other stun chances. You see it shine the most especially when paired with Piggy’s synergy ability. It is adding to your ability to stun targets, which you can benefit from like you would freeze. This applies to PvP situations as well.
Heals XX% HP each turn
● PvE: C-Tier ● PvP: C-Tier
This gem is really strong, and most players will benefit from this usage due to the fact that it essentially acts as a pseudo-Dragon Breath Armor; note that if you have already removed your damage reductions in favor of skill damage or other sources of damage, then this gem will be highly irrelevant, as the damage you take will be a lot larger than the total amount of health that you have; however, if you have not, or even if you have, as long as the damage you take does not one-shot you per turn, then this gem will be very strong.
Gain shield equal to XX% of max HP at battle start
● PvE: B-Tier ● PvP: A-Tier
A really good gem for the vast majority of players as long as the shield it gives you provides a substantially large amount of sustainability; note that if you have already dropped your damage reductions in favor of skill damage or other sources of damage, then this gem will be highly irrelevant, as the damage you take will be a lot larger than the total amount of health that you have; however, this gem can still be very strong as long as you are not getting completely obliterated by a single attack.
On the first turn, increases the hero's final DMG reduction by
+XX%
● PvE: C-Tier ● PvP: A-Tier
This gem is not really that useful PvE-wise, only useful in PvP if you're a glass cannon and do not want to die in the first round. It has some niche usage in dungeon dives wherein you may have to tank certain attacks, but otherwise, this gem is not that great.
When the hero takes direct DMG, reflects XX% of the DMG back
● PvE: F-Tier ● PvP: C-Tier
Damage reflected is not that great; health is multiplied by 10 while attack is left the same; you have no major attack scaling skills in PvP; and even then, at the highest rarity, this gem only reflects 10% of the damage back, so it’s not good.

Generally one of the best gems out there and universally good, there is literally no place that you would not benefit from an increase in Global ATK.

● PvE: C-Tier ● PvP: C-Tier

Physical damage is damage from daggers, sword aura, and light spears, so if any of your primary sources of damage (or even a good chunk of your damage) are from those three, then this gem is going to be good for you. It becomes A-tier for weapons like SS/Ailoren, and Whisperer.

Weapon Crit rate +XX%
● PvE: A-Tier ● PvP: A-Tier
This gem is really good if your weapon is reliant on the damage output from critical attacks, i.e., Whisperer, Helos Warblade/Blade of Justice, Nomad Bow, or Ailoren Sword users utilizing the Fantasy Joker rage generation build; however, if your weapon is not that reliant on weapon crit rate, then it wouldn’t be good at all. S-Tier if you're using Whisperer, Helos Warblade/Blade of Justice, or Nomad Bow in PvP, if you don't successfully crit against opponents with high ignore crit rate, then you won't deal any large sums of damage at all.
DoT Crit rate +XX%
● PvE: F-Tier ● PvP: F-Tier
Not that good for most users; however, if your build is specifically catered to the application of damage through damage-over-time effects, then it would be good.
Dagger Crit rate +XX%
● PvE: F-Tier ● PvP: C-Tier
Not that good for most players at all since you can easily achieve 100% skill crit rate; however, if you do not have 100% skill crit rate and you’re a Whisperer user, then you should use it.
Sword Qi Crit rate +XX%
● PvE: F-Tier ● PvP: C-Tier
Not that good for most players at all since you can easily achieve 100% skill crit rate; however, if you do not have 100% skill crit rate and you’re a Skysplitter user or someone whose majority of their damage output comes from Sword Chi, then you should use it.
Lightning Crit rate +XX%
● PvE: F-Tier ● PvP: C-Tier
Pretty useless; use it if you don’t have 100% skill crit rate.
Counter rate +XX%
● PvE: B-Tier ● PvP: C-Tier
If you need counter rate or the majority of your damage comes from counterattack or the skills that spawn from those attacks, then you can use the gem. This gem is pretty good regardless of what weapon you’re running unless you already have 120% counter rate to ensure every attack is a counterattack.
Combo rate +XX%
● PvE: A-Tier ● PvP: A-Tier
If you need a combo rate or the majority of your damage comes from a combo attack or the skills that spawn from those attacks, then you can use the gem. This gem is pretty good regardless of what weapon you’re running since in PvP you can end up fighting against players who have ridiculously high amounts of ignore combo rate, and to guarantee combo attacks, this is one of the best sources.
Deal +XX% DMG to shielded targets
● PvE: D-Tier ● PvP: A-Tier
It's only really useful in PvP scenarios where your opponent has a shield; enemies in PvE most of the time don't have shields, and even if they do, there are better alternative rings that you can utilize.
Deal +XX% DMG to targets with HP >70%
● PvE: B-Tier ● PvP: B-Tier
Generally good; however, it’s exceptionally good if you’re going to fight a boss that has a ridiculously high amount of health, like the Tier 30 Two-Headed Bird, the Seal Boss, or any event bosses like the one in the TMNT Crossover event.
When Burn X stacks, deals X% max HP as DMG per turn (capped
at XX)
● PvE: F-Tier ● PvP: F-Tier
Generally useless if you’re not a Star Staff user or a Whisperer Sharp Rogue + Skyflame synergy build; however, if you are, even then the gem is pretty mediocre and can easily be replaced by any other gem that also provides a damage increase.
[Unique] When a dagger hits, ATK +1%, up to XX%
● PvE: S-Tier ● PvP: S-Tier
One of the best gems in the entire game, this gem is an additive damage increase and is best in slot for any weapon utilizing daggers or using Fantasy Joker. Even if you do not use these two, as long as you have Zhanxian's deployment skill, then this gem is very good.
[Unique] Every 3 Combos, gain Skill Shield equal to XX% Max HP
● PvE: D-Tier ● PvP: S-Tier
Pretty good in early to mid-game PvP, and still has uses later on to help you survive rage attacks in PvE; however, it becomes useless and even detrimental later on when skill shield provides no substantial survivability.
[Unique] Lightning has XX% chance to reduce targets Shield Gain
by -XX%, up to 5 stacks, lasts 2 turns
● PvE: F-Tier ● PvP: F-Tier
Generally pretty useless; however, it can be slightly good if you are in early-game PvP and the shield is still providing substantial survivability.
[Unique] When Sword Qi hits, 50% chance to release 1 Blade
Cyclone dealing XXX% DMG
● PvE: C-Tier ● PvP: C-Tier
S-Tier for anybody who utilizes Sword Chi, this gem is considered Chi damage and can activate multiple times per turn as well as activate on the enemy backline.
[Unique] When Light Spear hits a burning target, deals additional
Counter DMG equal to X% of targets Max HP (capped at XX×
ATK, max 5 times per turn)
● PvE: C-Tier ● PvP: C-Tier
If your build is capable of consistently throwing light spears, then this gem would be pretty good for your build; however, not much is known about this gem, as it does not state what the true damage is capped at, and for all we know, the amount of damage it deals could barely be substantial.
[Unique] When the heros HP is lower than the enemys, increases
heros Lifesteal rate by +XX%
● PvE: C-Tier ● PvP: D-Tier
Lifesteal is pretty mediocre in PvP; however, if you're playing early-game PvE or still need healing for survivability, then this is one of the best gems out there since without this gem or the lifesteal skill, you cannot activate lifesteal.
[Unique] Rage Skill DMG +XX%, and Rage Skill has XX% chance
to Silence target for 1 turn (max 2 times per battle)
● PvE: C-Tier ● PvP: B-Tier
Rage Skill DMG is mediocre; the damage provided by this gem is not multiplicative, merely additive to the [%DmgModifiers] bracket, and you can cap [%DmgModifiers] easily without the usage of this gem. Rage silence is only slightly good for PvP and has niche usage against certain players and only if your build allows for it as well.
[Unique] When attacking enemies under Burn or Poison, ignores
XX% of their final DMG reduction
● PvE: S-Tier ● PvP: S-Tier
This gem is one of the best gems in the entire game. It works the same as a final damage boost due to the fact that it "ignores" their final damage reduction, but in reality, it just reduces their final damage reduction by the stated amount; therefore, if your opponent has no final damage reduction, then their reduction goes into the negative and acts as a final damage boost. It is also easy to activate as long as you have any source of flame waves on your build.

[Unique] Increases the healing effect of carried pets by +XX%
[Unique] After the pet casts a skill, reduces the enemys Crit rate by -XX% for 2 turns
[Unique] After the hero deals direct DMG to an enemy, reduces the enemys ATK by -XX% for 2 turns
Not good.
Ignore Counter rate +XX%
● PvE: C-Tier ● PvP: C-Tier
Decently good for fighting against specific players who are reliant on the counter rate to output their damage; use it if you want to specifically fight against one of those players. These players would be Durian/Mushroom Hammer users, Shadow Lance users, or anyone whose build revolves primarily around counter rate.
Ignore Combo rate +XX%
● PvE: D-Tier ● PvP: A-Tier
Insanely good for fighting against specific players who are reliant on the combo rate to output their damage; use it if you want to specifically fight against one of those players. These players would be Whisperer, Helos Warblade/Blade of Justice, and Skysplitter users, or anyone whose build revolves primarily around combo rate. If you stack up multiple of these gems, you will destroy anyone who does not have a high enough combo rate to counter you.
Ignore Crit Rate +XX%.
● PvE: D-Tier ● PvP: S-Tier
Insanely good for PvP in general; use it all the time under the condition that you can gather more sources of ignore crit rate to reduce your opponent's critical rate to a small margin. If you stack up multiple of these gems, you will destroy anyone who does not have a high enough crit rate to even deal enough damage to tickle you.
● PvE: Low S-Tier ● PvP: S-Tier
One of the best gems in the game; if you run an icy bubble, you should use this gem. All endgame enemies have high control immunity, so this helps with CC-ing them. It's not universally good since other gems that provide a better damage boost can be used in favor of this gem; however, it's still very good if you're early game and don't have a lot of freeze chance. Also increase freeze chance in PvP
Dagger DMG Coefficient +X%
● PvE: C-Tier ● PvP: C-Tier
Good if you’re a Whisperer user; if you’re not, it’s not that good unless you are also capable of throwing a lot of daggers like Whisperer users.
Lightning DMG Coefficient +X%
● PvE: C-Tier PvP: C-Tier
● PvE: C-Tier ● PvP: C-Tier
It’s generally pretty useless or will only provide you with a minimal damage increase unless you can throw a lot of light spears.
Combo DMG Coefficient +XX%
● PvE: C-Tier ● PvP: C-Tier
Insanely good if you’re a Blade of Justice user; if not, the gem is borderline useless.
Deal +XX% DMG to targets with HP >70%
● PvE: B-Tier ● PvP: B-Tier
Generally a universally good gem, as the gem itself is just a consistent damage increase. This gem particularly shines in scenarios where the enemy or opponent has insanely high amounts of health, like the Tier 30 Two-Headed Bird, Immortal Event Bosses, or the Seal Battle.
On Critical Hit, deals additional DMG equal to X% of the targets
Max HP, up to 1 time per turn, not exceeding XXtimes the ATK
Power
● PvE: F-Tier ● PvP: F-Tier
Pretty bad in comparison to the other combo attack true damage and counterattack true damage gems; use it if you have nothing better to use, as even though it isn’t a large damage increase, it is still a damage increase.
[Unique] Each time the hero is ATKed, increases the heros ATK
power by +X%, stacking up to 5 layers, lasting until the end of
battle
● PvE: S-Tier ● PvP: S-Tier
Attack stat increases are always welcome; however, this is an additive increase in the attack stat formula, so it is not as impactful as other gems that are multiplicative, like “steal enemy attack at the start of the round” on weapon gems, but it is still very good and should be slotted no matter what.
[Unique] Increases the healing effect of carried pets by +XX%
● PvE: F-Tier ● PvP: F-Tier
Trash
[Unique] After the pet casts a skill, reduces the enemy's crit rate
by -XX% for 2 turns
● PvE: D-Tier ● PvP: S-Tier
This gem is extremely good for PvP due to the fact that it works just like the Ignore Crit Rate gem on armor or accessories and lets you stack up ridiculous amounts of Ignore Crit Rate and take little to no damage from enemies.
[Unique] After the hero deals direct DMG to an enemy, reduces
the enemy's ATK by -XX% for 2 turns
● PvE: S-Tier ● PvP: S-Tier
This gem is really good everywhere due to the fact that it is essentially equivalent to the legendary shrink spell; however, if you can't even take one hit regardless of whether or not this gem is active, then it isn't really that good at all.
End of guide, happy reading. If you saw this, ping me @tide haha
