💀 Randomizer No Death: Use What You Get (UWYG) 💀
🌀 • RegionHardLock:
All bosses in one area must be defeated before accessing another area.
Example: To reach the Weeping Peninsula (south of Limgrave), all bosses from North Limgrave must be defeated first.
📘 • Difference between Lock and HardLock:
In “Lock” mode (not used here), Limgrave is considered a single region with 31 bosses.
Once all 31 are defeated, you can freely access Caelid, Liurnia, or Siofra.
In “HardLock” (the one we’re using), Limgrave is divided into 3 subregions:
● Limgrave (19 bosses)
● Weeping Peninsula (10 bosses)
● Stormveil Castle (2 bosses)
All 19 Limgrave bosses must be defeated before entering the Peninsula, Stormveil, Siofra,
Liurnia, or Caelid.
This restriction applies to all regions of the game.
️ A full list of HardLock regions is available at the end of this Pastebin.

➡️ Choice B [updated 06/10]:

⚙️ Description – Choice A:
These settings take arena size into account when randomizing bosses according to their size.
These are the original challenge settings.
⚙️ Description – Choice B:
These settings ignore boss and arena size. The randomization is broader, and previously rare bosses (Elden Beast, Metyr, Valiant Gargoyles, etc.) are now more frequent.
The mix is total, but bosses may appear in arenas unsuited to them.
To keep the challenge fair, Gargoyle poison ticks and Malenia’s self-heal are disabled in this version.
⚠️ Do NOT switch the randomizer to French after importing!
It changes key settings. Instead, close and restart the randomizer—it will switch to French automatically without altering any options. ⚠️

📓 RULES:
• Start with the Wretch class.
• You may return to previously completed areas.
• You may activate the first Site of Grace in Altus to start Radahn’s Festival in Caelid (without looting anything in Altus).
• You may access the Roundtable Hold anytime once it’s unlocked.
• You may activate Gurranq’s Site of Grace at the Bestial Sanctum (via teleport behind the Third Church of Marika, Limgrave) to reach the Roundtable Hold and blacksmith.
⚠️ Do NOT pick up any items in Bestial Sanctum if you go there only for this reason!
(You may also activate a Site of Grace in Caelid if you pick up no items and kill no enemies there.)
• You may buy the lantern from the Liurnia merchant without picking up items outside Limgrave, without activating any Sites of Grace outside Limgrave, and without taking the merchant’s bell bearing. Don’t buy anything else.
• If a boss blocks zone progression (e.g. key-locked or story-bound), you may temporarily skip it but must defeat it as soon as it becomes accessible (e.g. Grafted Scion in Liurnia needing an Imbued Sword Key, or Fortissax needing the Death Cursemark).
• All auto-equipped gear must stay equipped (armor, talismans, weapons, flask contents, spells).
No unequipping allowed—even if you’re heavy or overloaded.
• Weapons auto-equip in right hand; shields/staves/seals/bows/crossbows in left hand.
• You may freely change arrows and bolts anytime.
• You may buy Ashes of War, arrows, and bolts.
Do NOT buy any auto-equippable gear from merchants.
• You may equip the Sentinel Torch (left-hand slot 2) only to fight the Invisible Black Knife Assassin, and remove it afterward.
• You may equip the Serpent-Hunter (right-hand slot 2) only to fight Rykard, and remove it afterward.
If it auto-equips on pickup before the fight, do nothing.
The Serpent-Hunter starts at +0—you may upgrade it.
• You must pick up every item you safely can.
If it’s surrounded by enemies or too risky, you may skip it. Use common sense—the goal is to prevent “anti-fun” strategies, not force suicides for loot.
• You can do regions in any order, as long as HardLock rules are respected.
The checklist’s order is just a difficulty-based suggestion.
• NO QUITOUT

UWYG Randomizer Intro
The content above introduces the Use What You Get (UWYG) randomizer concept, emphasizing the “no death” style and how region progression is handled under HardLock rules. The English rules are hosted via Pastebin at the link provided in the Overview. The UWYG approach is designed to increase challenge by randomizing boss encounters while enforcing strict regional progression.
---
RegionHardLock Concept
RegionHardLock means: all bosses in one area must be defeated before accessing another area. This creates a chain-like progression through the game’s regions. The Weeping Peninsula example demonstrates how regional progression is gated by clearing all bosses in North Limgrave before moving south. The HardLock approach divides larger areas into subregions to enforce more granular progression control:
- Limgrave: 19 bosses
- Weeping Peninsula: 10 bosses
- Stormveil Castle: 2 bosses
Under this model, players must defeat all 19 Limgrave bosses before entering any other subregion (Peninsula, Stormveil, Siofra, Liurnia, or Caelid). This constraint applies to all regions of the game. The full list of HardLock regions and subregions is provided at the end of the pastebin.
---
HardLock vs Lock Differences
In Lock mode (not used here), Limgrave is treated as a single region containing 31 bosses. After clearing all 31 bosses, players can access Caelid, Liurnia, or Siofra freely. In contrast, HardLock divides Limgrave into three subregions:
- Limgrave (19 bosses)
- Weeping Peninsula (10 bosses)
- Stormveil Castle (2 bosses)
This segmentation means you must clear 19 Limgrave bosses before entering the Peninsula, Stormveil, Siofra, Liurnia, or Caelid. The restriction is applied across all regions of the game.
