Serpents Beam has 3 separate attacks, it always attacks in the following sequence:
Combo Starter 1 → Combo Starter 2 → Combo Finisher (^) 1,2,3 Each Combo Starter generates 1 combo point baseline plus any additional you have from gear. They increase damage based on the following formula (CFD = Combo Finisher Damage): CFD = Base Dmg (1 + Combo Points Combo Finisher Amplification) The Base number of Combo Points is 1 per Combo Starter. Substituting that into the equation sets the base value to 3. The Combo Finishers account for the majority of your damage due to the previously shown formula. That makes additional finishers a massive multiplier.
Pretty much a 2x for the 1st and a 1.5x for the second.

Affliction adds 1% additional damage per point up to 100. This value can be scaled with increased Affliction Effect.
True Flame causes 60% of this value to apply to on-hit Fire Damage.
Escalating Affliction; 10% 500% at max Affliction (average 255%) Impermanence (min0.72 max1.28) = 7.2% 640% at max Affliction (average 323%) Also Effects the Base Damage of Serpent Beam Queer Angle Lucky Dam = min + 2/3 x (max-min) = 6+((⅔)(640-7.2)) = _428%_ True Flame True Flame = 4280.6 = _256_ % additional damage. This value also scales with increased Affliction effect! This also has a -20% additional damage multi so you can treat it as 256*0.8 = 205
This build doesn’t take any Talent Trees with the 2 Major Talents needed. This means you’d need to get them from; Blended Modifier Pedigree

Mercury Bottle 70-80 per second
A good roll of this grants the desired 100 per second.
Strength Stacking
It doesn’t matter that Serpent Beam is an Intelligence skill since you can just use _Magnus Scar._ Then you go to Life/Armour > Energy Shield.
Tenacity Blessings
Hard to get these early with candle mods removed. But they enable a lot more damage through _Magnus’ Laws_.
Ways to generate Tenacity Blessings: 50% Chance to gain random blessing on Block (unreliable) Chance when regaining (Kismet: Stone Bear)

_Serpent Beam is far less powerful than Hammer of Ash early, staying as Hammer of Ash is a reasonable option until you get some combo gear. Especially if you have no spell damage pets._

Campaign Levelling

Campaign on Gemma is super easy, biggest priority is constantly upgrading your weapon
This is pretty much what your gear should look like at the end of the campaign.
Make sure to get a little bit of energy before the last boss (enough to reach 85 for easiest time) that way you can equip extra aura, 5 link and focus skill
You won’t need to change anything going into early timemarks, if you’re dying it’ll be to now regain/regen so you can either spec enough regain to your taste. Or add in Compound Potion.

The Ethereal Prism mods do not include any of the ones that are likely to be much rarer and therefore unsuitable for this stage of the game. I can’t say for sure that the Prism’s listed here will be cheap or what not, but so you have something to aim for:
Major Talent Additions These add an additional effect to your Major Talent in the tree you place them. The best place for them is in Magister due to the abundance of Talent Points allocated at the end of the tree.
The Prisms can also be crafted to apply additional effects to the Talent Tree’s within range, these are some of the good mods for this build (This means for Minor and Mediums you get 3x the effect on each node since you allocate 3 times)
