The War Within – Season 3 Launch Guide
Patch 11.2 “Ghosts of K’aresh” launches on August 5, 2025, and Season 3 content opens on
August 12. This guide breaks down everything you need to know to prepare, optimize, and
conquer Season 3 of The War Within – including gearing paths, Renown grinds, raid
progression, Mythic+, and Delves.
Season 3 Launch Schedule
- Week 0 (Aug 5) – Patch 11.2 releases. New zone K’aresh opens with its campaign,
plus a world boss, Delves, a new dungeon, and the new artifact cloak (Reshii Wraps)
available.
- Week 1 (Aug 12) – Season 3 begins. The Manaforge Omega raid opens
(Normal/Heroic/Mythic difficulties and Raid Finder Wing 1), Mythic+ Season 3 dungeon
rotation starts, PvP Season 3 begins, and full Delve content unlocks.
- Week 2 (Aug 19) – Raid Finder Wing 2 unlocks, along with the story-driven Raid Story
Mode. The first Mythic Great Vault rewards become available.
- Week 3 (Aug 26) – Raid Finder Wing 3 opens, giving access to the final bosses for LFR.
The season settles into its regular weekly rhythm of progression and farm content.
What’s New in Season 3
- New Raid – Manaforge Omega: An 8-boss raid (with 7 main bosses + 1 optional boss).
The raid is set on K’aresh in a massive ethereal mana facility. Note: The Reshii Wraps
cloak is required for entry and certain mechanics in this raid.
- New Mythic+ Dungeon Pool: The Season 3 Mythic+ rotation features a mix of new and
returning dungeonsworldofwarcraft.blizzard.com. Notable entries include the brand-new
Eco-Dome Al’dani (3-boss dungeon in K’aresh), both wings of Tazavesh (Streets of
Wonder & So’leah’s Gambit), Halls of Atonement (revived from Revendreth), and
others like Ara-Kara, City of Echoes, The Dawnbreaker, Priory of the Sacred Flame,
and Operation: Floodgate.
- New Delve Season: A fresh Delve progression with Bountiful Delves (enhanced
reward delves) and a new Nemesis boss, Nexus-Princess Ky’veza, to challenge in the
Delves.
- New Artifact Cloak – Reshii Wraps: A special Ethereal-themed cloak that levels up
and gains power with you. It has customizable stats and unique effects depending on
your role (tank/heal/DPS). It’s also integral to new content like “Phase Diving” and is
used in the raid.(See the Artifact Cloak section below for details.)
- Endless Augment Runes: A new permanent augment rune item can be unlocked (no
more buying one-use runes each raid). You can obtain this rune via the K’aresh Trust
faction at Renown 18 or individual ones through the raid Renown track at Rank 9. It
costs 100k gold and provides a limitless source of the +strength/agi/int buff for raids and
dungeons.
○ Renown 18 unlocks the Endless Augment Rune for purchase, letting you
permanently boost your stats in raids and dungeons warcraft.wiki.gg. This
requires massive rep farming and 100,000 gold to buy, so it’s only for the most
dedicated players – casual players can ignore this early on.
Artifact Cloak – Reshii Wraps
- Unlocking the Cloak: Progress the K’aresh storyline and complete Chapter 3 of the
K’aresh campaign. The quest “The Tabiqa” awards the Reshii Wraps cloak, along with
3 Ethereal Strands and your first Ethereal Fiber (used for stat customization).
- Upgrading and Item Level: The cloak’s item level can be increased each week. A
weekly quest becomes available to raise the cloak’s ilvl step by step (eventually up to ilvl
730 at max). Be sure to complete this cloak quest every week to keep improving its
power.
- Role-Based Powers: Reshii Wraps has unique effects depending on your spec role:
Tanks gain a damage-absorbing shield, Healers get a healing+absorb aura, and DPS
trigger an AoE damage proc. These powers scale as the cloak’s level rises, enhancing
your performance in that role.
- Stat Customization with Fibers: Ethereal Fibers (crafted via Tailoring) can be
socketed into Reshii Wraps to grant secondary stats of your choice. You’ll earn a few
fibers from quests and can craft or trade for more – use them to tailor the cloak’s stats to
your needs (e.g., high crit, haste, etc.).
- Upgrade Currency – Ethereal Strands: Upgrading Reshii Wraps beyond the weekly
quest requires Ethereal Strands, which drop from a variety of Season 3 content – raids,
PvP, Delves, Mythic+ dungeons, and warrant quests in K’aresh. Save these strands to
keep boosting your cloak’s ilvl whenever possible.
Week-by-Week Launch Strategy
This section provides an optimal plan for the first few weeks of Season 3. Follow these
checklists to efficiently gear up and progress without wasting valuable resources. (Casual
players can follow the basics; [Hardcore] steps are optional for those looking to squeeze every
advantage.)
Week 0: Patch Launch (Aug 5–11)
- Things to Avoid This Week: Do not spend any of your valuable upgrade currencies or crafting
materials yet. Hold off on using Spark of Starlight, Restored Coffer Keys, or any
Runed/Gilded Crests until Season 3 officially starts next week. Saving these now will let you
craft and upgrade better gear once higher ilvls are obtainable.
- Week 0 To-Do Checklist:
- Darkmoon Faire Buff: If the Darkmoon Faire is active, grab the “Whee!” buff (+10%
rep) before doing any reputation activities. Every bit of extra rep will help with Renown
gains.
- Questing in K’aresh: Complete all new campaign chapters and side quests in K’aresh.
This unlocks content (including the cloak quest) and yields a lot of one-time reputation
and gear rewards.
- Explore & Farm K’aresh: Kill rares, loot treasure chests, and read any lore objects you
find in K’aresh. These often grant additional one-time reputation or resources. It’s a fun
way to learn the story and get extra rep towards K’aresh Trust.
- Start Upgrading Reshii Wraps: Begin the artifact cloak questline as soon as possible
and get the first weekly upgrade done. By the end of Week 0, you should aim to have
your Reshii Wraps around ilvl 697 or so.
- Delves: Level up your Delve rank to 8 (the max rank for Season 3 Delves). Once you hit
Rank 8, complete 8× Tier 8 Delves (i.e., at difficulty 8) for loot. These Tier 8 runs drop
Champion-track gear (around ilvl 680s) and will also count for Hero-level item options
in your Great Vault. This is a great source of pre-raid gear to prep for Season 3.
- Mythic 0 Dungeons: Run all 6 Mythic 0 dungeons available (the new dungeon plus any
others at base Mythic difficulty). These drop Champion-track gear (around ilvl 681)
which is solid baseline gear. After the first 6, you can run 2 additional Mythic 0
dungeons (even if they no longer drop loot for you) to fill up all 8 slots in your Great Vault
for the week. This way, come Week 1, your vault will have multiple loot choices despite
Mythic+ not being out yet.
- World Boss: Kill the new world boss Reshanor in K’aresh. Reshanor drops ilvl 688 loot
and has a chance to drop an Ethereal Strand or other useful items. It’s a once-per-week
loot, so don’t miss it.
- Valorstones: Cap out your Valorstones to 2,000 (the weekly cap). Valorstones are
used for purchasing and upgrading certain gear; you’ll accumulate them from various
activities (dailies, events, etc.). Try to reach the cap so none of your earned Valorstones
go to waste.
- Maximize Renown Gains: If you’re aiming for that Renown 18 quickly, complete every
single rep-yielding activity you can find. This includes all K’aresh world quests, both
weekly rep tokens (see Renown section below), all major events (like Ecological
Succession, Tazavesh Warrants, etc.), and any remaining one-time rep sources (side
quests, treasures, achievements). Using the Darkmoon Faire rep buff here is crucial.
Week 1: Season 3 Launch (Aug 12–18)
- Season 3 officially begins this week, so the focus is on stepping into endgame content. Here’s
what to do as soon as Week 1 starts:
- Great Vault – Open & Plan: Open your Great Vault on Tuesday and evaluate your
rewards. Vault Selection Priority:
1. Tier Set or High-Impact Item (Hero Track) – If you see a Hero-track tier piece
or a strong trinket (e.g., from Delves) in your vault, that’s likely your top choice.
Tier set items are especially valuable early on for set bonuses.
2. Champion Track Tier Piece (Mythic 0) – If no Hero items, a Champion-track
tier item from Mythic 0 is your next best, to start collecting your 2-piece/4-piece
bonus.
3. Socket Token or Other Upgrade – If your vault has no useful gear, taking a
socket token is a good fallback (you can use it later on a piece of gear you’ll
keep).
- World Boss: Kill Reshanor again for another shot at loot (now drops ilvl 688 gear in
Season 3). Always do your weekly world boss for the chance at upgrades or collectibles.
- Mythic+ Dungeons: Start running Mythic+ keys now that they’re available. In Week 1,
focus on completing at least +10 keystone dungeons. A +10 key drops about ilvl 701
gear at end-of-run, which is higher than anything from Week 0. It also gives Gilded
Ethereal Crest (Gilded Crests) for upgrading gear. Aim to get a variety of Mythic+
dungeons done to fill your vault options for next week.
- Tazavesh Hard Mode (Optional): If you and your group are geared enough (~700 ilvl),
consider attempting the hard-mode run of Tazavesh (Mega-dungeon) for an extra
achievement or bonus loot. It’s difficult, but it can drop 710+ item level rewards. It’s tough
in Week 1, so only attempt it if your group is well-prepared.
- Use Your First Spark: By now you should have a Spark of Starlight available. Craft
one ilvl 720 item with it (Check your class Discord or guides for the ideal crafted
item – e.g., some classes craft trinkets, others craft weapons.) Use 60 (Gilded Crests)
along with the Spark to bring this crafted item to ilvl 720 (the max for crafted gear this
season(until boost 😀)). This will likely be your highest ilvl piece for a while, so choose
wisely.
- Continue Cloak Upgrades: Do the Week 1 quest for Reshii Wraps to raise its ilvl again
(goal: get it to ~ilvl 704 by end of the week). Also, if you have collected enough Ethereal
Strands, use them to apply additional upgrades to the cloak beyond the quest cap. The
cloak’s growing power will help in both the raid and Mythic+ content.
- Delve for Loot: Use any Restored Coffer Keys you saved to open treasure coffers on
completed Tier 8 Delve maps. These coffers reward extra Hero-track loot and possibly
more cloak upgrade materials. Since you saved these keys from Week 0, you can now
utilize them when the rewards are more relevant.
- Raid – Manaforge Omega: Start raiding! If you’re in a raid guild or group, clear Normal
mode Manaforge Omega and as much of Heroic as you can. Some groups may even
attempt early Mythic bosses if geared well. Clearing Normal/ Heroic in Week 1 gives
you chances at Raid gear. Even if you’re not a hardcore raider, try to at least join or pug
Normal mode to see the fights and maybe snag tier pieces. Remember to wear your
Reshii Wraps cloak in the raid – it’s required for certain mechanics and for you to even
zone in. If your cloak isn’t high ilvl yet, don’t worry; its utility matters more than its stats
for now.
- Week 1 Upgrade Plan: By the end of Week 1, you should start upgrading your gear
strategically. Use some of the (Runed Crests) you’ve earned to bump up any ilvl ~701 pieces to
ilvl ~704.
Week 2: First Mythic Vault (Aug 19–25)
- By Week 2, the first Mythic+ Great Vault rewards become available, potentially boosting your
gear even further.
- Great Vault Rewards: Open your vault and see if you got any Mythic items (~ilvl 707).
These will be your biggest upgrades in Week 2. Pick the highest-impact item (tier set
pieces remain top picks). If you completed a full 8 dungeons at +10 or higher last week,
you’ll have multiple options.
- Cloak Quest: Continue the cloak quest line for Week 2 to boost Reshii Wraps again
(aim for around ilvl 707 on the cloak by now). Every little stat boost or extra effect power
on the cloak will help in tougher content.
- Cap Your Crests: Aim to complete 8× Mythic+ runs at +10 or higher to cap out your
crest fragments for both the (Runed) and (Gilded) crest categories (Note: You just
need +7 to start earning Gilded). This ensures you have maximum upgrade materials.
Plus, doing +10s will increase the item level of end-of-dungeon loot to ~701 and add
higher ilvl options to next week’s vault.
- Keep Delving (Optional): If you’re still missing the best-in-slot trinket from Delves or
other Delve rewards (mounts, schematics), continue running your weekly Delves.
- Raid Progression: By Week 2, many guilds will be progressing deeper into Heroic
Manaforge Omega or starting Mythic bosses. Keep raiding to collect more tier pieces
and higher ilvl drops. Also, Raid Finder Wing 2 opens this week, which is an easy way
to see more bosses and perhaps get some gear for alts or fill slots if needed (LFR drops
lower ilvl gear, but tier set items from LFR can help complete a 4-set bonus until you get
better).
- Week 2 Upgrade Plan: Use this week to finish upgrading all your earlier gear:
- Any remaining pieces should now be upgraded with Runed crests to ilvl 704. Don’t leave
any “low-hanging” upgrades undone if you have spare crests.
- If you have a Mythic item, consider using a full Gilded Crests (60) to boost it to ilvl 720.
Focus on items that you won’t replace soon (like a great trinket or weapon).
- By the end of Week 2, with these upgrades, your average item level should be roughly
707–708. At this point, you’ll notice your character feeling considerably more powerful
than at the start of the season.
Week 3 and Beyond (Aug 26+)
- By Week 3, the season is in full swing and most unlocks are available. Your approach will
become a steady routine:
- Weekly Priorities: Each week, continue to complete the Reshii Wraps cloak quest to
keep upgrading your cloak, do your 8 Mythic+ runs for vault rewards and crest
fragments, kill the world boss, and progress in the raid (or clear farm content). Don’t
forget to also do weekly Delve runs, PvP cap (if you’re into PvP), and any weekly
quests/events for rep or Valorstones.
- Use New Sparks Wisely: You’ll receive additional Spark of Starlight over time
(approximately one every two weeks or so after the initial ones). Craft new 720 ilvl gear
with these, focusing on slots that are lagging behind or that complete your set.
Commonly, people craft items like trinkets or off-pieces that are hard to get from drops.
Always check the current meta or class advice for what to craft next.
- Upgrade Strategically: As your gear improves, use your highest-tier crests on the
pieces that have the most impact. Typically, upgrade your highest item level pieces
first. Over the weeks, you’ll naturally replace lower ilvl items with higher drops, so save
some upgrade materials for those new items.
- Renown & Sockets: Continue gaining Renown with factions like K’aresh Trust and
Manaforge Vandals each week, as they unlock useful rewards (e.g., sockets, recipes,
augment runes, etc.). Purchase socket tokens for your gear from the rep vendors or
Great Vault when available, and apply sockets to pieces you plan to keep equipped for a
long time (such as a BiS ring or neck).
- Enjoy the Journey: After Week 3, most of the “rush” is over. At this point, settle into a
sustainable routine – push Mythic+ higher if you enjoy it, work on Mythic raid
progression if you’re a raider, or start an alt character (the Renown and catch-up
systems will make gearing alts easier). Remember to have fun with the new content –
explore Phase Diving, chase achievements, or hunt down collectibles like mounts and
transmogs that interest you!
Gearing Best Practices
As you navigate Season 3 gearing, keep these best practices in mind to avoid common pitfalls
and make the most of your resources:
What Not to Do:
- Don’t burn upgrade materials too early: Avoid spending your (Runed) or (Gilded)
Crests in Week 0 when item level caps are low. It’s better to save them for when you
have higher ilvl gear to upgrade.
- Don’t craft gear in easily replaced slots: Be strategic with your limited Sparks. For
instance, do not craft items like boots or gloves early if those slots can be filled by tier
set or guaranteed drops. Also, weapons from the raid might outscale a crafted one, so
consider that before using a Spark on a weapon.
- Don’t ignore tier set timing: Try not to invest too much into non-tier items that you will
replace once you start getting your 4-piece tier set. Godbless for catalyst and Cuzolth.
What To Do:
- Follow Class Guidance: Always check your class’s community (Discord servers,
forums, Icy Veins/Wowhead guides) for recommendations on best-in-slot items and
optimal crafting choices. These communities often theorycraft the ideal gear setup
(which slot to use Sparks on first, which trinkets are BIS, etc.). A few minutes of research
can save you from wasting resources on a suboptimal item.
- Maximize Vault Options Early: In the first weeks, do content that gives Hero-track loot
options in your Great Vault. For example, completing Tier 8 Delves and Mythic 0
dungeons in Week 0 ensures your Week 1 vault has higher quality options. Likewise,
doing +10s in Week 1 yields better vault loot for Week 2, and so on. More choices
means a better chance at tier sets or strong items.
- Use Sockets Wisely: Socket upgrades are powerful and relatively rare. Apply sockets
to items that you won’t replace for a long time – typically high-level wrists, belts, helms
that you’re sure is BIS. Putting a socket on an item that gets replaced next week is
wasted potential.
- Manage Valorstones and Other Currency: Keep your Valorstones near the cap
(2000) so you’re always earning the maximum each week and can spend them on gear
upgrades or items when needed. Valorstones can be used at vendors for upgrade items
or other catch-up gear – spend them efficiently on pieces that give the biggest boost.
- Leverage Reputation Buffs: Whenever events like the Darkmoon Faire (10% rep
boost) or the Sign of the Emissary weekly event (+50% rep from WQs) are active, use
them to accelerate your Renown gains. Also, complete the weekly rep quests/tokens
(from the Dungeon Delve and Bountiful Delve) every week. This will significantly speed
up unlocking Renown rewards (mounts, recipes, augment rune, etc.) on your account.
Delves in Season 3
- Delves continue to be an important PvE activity in Season 3, both for gearing and for fun
rewards:
- Weekly Delve Runs: Aim to complete 8× Rank 8 Delves each week (Tier 8 difficulty).
This will not only reward you with Hero-track loot (ilvl 694 gear), but it also counts
toward Great Vault (Hero) options. Essentially, Delves give you an extra path to
raid-level gear outside of Mythic+ and raiding.
- Nemesis Boss: Each Delve season features a special Nemesis encounter. In Season 3,
it’s Nexus-Princess Ky’veza. Make sure to defeat her at least once (usually found in a
specific Delve floor or as a final challenge) – she can drop unique loot or currency
bonuses. Often, there are achievements tied to killing the Nemesis as well.
- Delve Rewards and Collectibles: Keep an eye out for Delve-specific rewards. For
example, Season 3 introduces the Delver’s Mana-Skimmer mount (and its schematics
for Engineers). These may drop from Delve chests or be purchased with Delve currency.
Farming Delves can also earn you transmog appearances and pets linked to the K’aresh
theme. If you enjoy this content, it’s a great side-activity that complements your main
gear progression.
Mythic+ Season 3 Tips
Season 3’s Mythic+ brings new challenges and old favorites. Here’s what you need to know:
- Dungeon Rotation: The Mythic+ pool for Season 3 includes a combination of new
content from The War Within and curated dungeons from past expansions. The lineup is:
○ Eco-Dome Al’dani – New: A K’aresh-based dungeon with 3 bosses.
○ Halls of Atonement – Returning: A 4-boss dungeon from Revendreth
(Shadowlands).
○ Tazavesh: Streets of Wonder – Returning: First wing of the Shadowlands
mega-dungeon (broker-themed, 5 bosses).
○ Tazavesh: So’leah’s Gambit – Returning: Second wing of Tazavesh (3 bosses,
including So’leah).
○ Ara-Kara, City of Echoes – Returning: A dungeon (from previous content, likely
Season 2’s Undermine) featuring echo-themed encounters.
○ The Dawnbreaker – Returning: A Lightforged-themed dungeon (likely from
Season 2).
○ Priory of the Sacred Flame – Returning: A monastery/cleric-themed dungeon
(from Season 2).
○ Operation: Floodgate – Returning: A Titan/engineering themed dungeon (from
Season 2).
(Note: If you aren’t familiar with the Season 2 dungeons like Ara-Kara or
Floodgate, consider reading a quick guide or watching a video for mechanics –
they’re “new” for anyone who skipped Season 2.)
- Recommended Keystone Strategy:
○ Week 1 (Season launch): Run as many +10 keys as you can comfortably
complete. +10s drop solid gear (~ilvl 701) and yield Gilded crests. They also
ensure your Week 3 Great Vault will have 1-3 options in the 707+ ilvl range. Don’t
worry about pushing higher than +10 in week 1 unless you’re very confident;
focus on consistency and vault coverage.
○ Week 3 onward: Coordinate with friends or guildmates to tackle keys you find
challenging – having knowledge of the dungeon mechanics (especially the
returning ones) is key as difficulty ramps up.
○ Weekly Cap: Remember, you can only earn a finite number of crest fragments
for each crest tier per week. Plan your dungeon runs to meet those caps – for
example, after you’ve earned all possible Runed crests, focus on higher keys for
Gilded crests.
- Affixes and Class Setup: Keep an eye on the weekly affix rotation. In Season 3,
Blizzard may have tweaked or removed some affixes. Adjust your group composition
and strategy accordingly. Communication and adaptability are key as you climb higher
keys.
Raid – Manaforge Omega
Manaforge Omega is the centerpiece raid of Season 3, and it comes with some unique twists:
- Overview: Manaforge Omega features 8 bosses in total, with an optional mid-raid boss
encounter called The Soul Hunters that you don’t strictly need to kill to reach the final
boss. The final boss is Dimensius, the All-Devouring, a major lore enemy. The raid’s
theme is an ethereal facility harnessing cosmic power, and the encounters mix high-tech
traps with void magic foes.
- Reshii Wraps Required: Entry to Manaforge Omega requires at least one player in your
raid to have the Reshii Wraps cloak attuned, and certain raid mechanics will necessitate
everyone having it equipped (for example, using Phase Diving to avoid lethal attacks).
Essentially, do not leave your cloak in the bank! Even if it’s lower ilvl than your regular
cloak, you will need to wear Reshii Wraps for specific fights or phases. The raid is
designed around it.
- Notable Loot and Goals: One particularly important loot drop is from the optional Soul
Hunters encounter. They drop special boots that enhance the Reshii Wraps cloak’s
proc (making your cloak’s shield/proc stronger). These boots are highly desirable for
anyone raiding, so even though Soul Hunters is optional, most groups will want to kill
them every week for a chance at the item. Additionally, the raid offers class set pieces
(with set bonuses tied to your Hero talent choices) and a variety of powerful trinkets. Try
to target at least your 4-piece tier set through raiding or the vault within the first few
weeks of the season for the big power spike.
- Raid Renown – Manaforge Vandals: Manaforge Omega introduces its own Renown
track called the Manaforge Vandals (similar to how Season 2’s raid had Gallagio’s
Loyalty). By killing raid bosses each week, you’ll earn Renown with this faction. There is
a renown cap that increases by 1 each week, so you can’t max it out immediately (to
keep raiders progressing steadily). Key rewards from Manaforge Vandals renown
include:
○ A raid skip at Renown 5 (so once you’ve reached rank 5, you can skip ahead in the
raid on later weeks).
○ A unique flying mount, the Vandal’s Gearglider, at Renown 8.
○ Soulforged Augment Runes at Renown 9 (this is the raid’s version of the
endless augment rune (kind of), unlocked via the Soul Hunters boss).
○ Profession recipes (Enchanting, Engineering, Inscription) at various ranks, often
unlocking raid-specific enhancements or fun crafts.
○ Cosmetic transmog sets and titles (e.g., a title at Renown 14 “
another mount at Renown 14/15).
○ Flat power buffs while in the raid (e.g., +damage/healing, movement speed
boosts after trash, etc. at certain renown thresholds). Make sure to talk to the
Renown NPC in the raid hub each week after you’ve killed bosses to turn in any
renown progress item, so you don’t miss out on these rewards as they unlock.
This system rewards consistent raiders and also provides catch-up for those who
start raiding later (they’ll get renown faster to catch up to the current cap).
- Raid Difficulty Progression: If you’re pushing Mythic raiding, be prepared for a
challenging tier. Manaforge Omega’s Mythic mode has some unique phase mechanics
(especially involving Phase Diving and the cloak) that will test coordination. On the other
hand, if you’re a more casual raider, the new Story Mode (unlocked in Week 3) offers a
very low-stress way to see the raid’s story and mechanics without the pressure of failure
– use this to learn encounters or just experience the narrative.
K’aresh Trust Renown Guide
The K’aresh Trust is the new major Renown faction introduced in Patch 11.2 (akin to the main
zone reputation grind for K’aresh). Here’s a breakdown of how Renown with this faction works
and how to level it efficiently:
Renown System Overview
- Renown & Reputation: Gaining 2,500 reputation with K’aresh Trust grants 1 Renown
rank (so each Renown level is effectively 2,500 rep). This is similar to previous factions
in Dragonflight – you fill a bar of 2,500 rep to ding the next Renown level.
- Warband-Wide Progress: Both reputation and Renown for K’aresh Trust are
account-wide (Warband-wide). This means all your characters on the account
contribute to the same Renown track, and rewards unlock account-wide. You cannot
gain extra rep by repeating activities on multiple alts – once an activity’s rep is earned on
one character, that’s it for the week (for repeatable activities) or forever (for one-time
activities). However, you can use different alts to do different activities if convenient.
- Renown Rewards: The Trust offers 20 Renown levels with various rewards. These
include cosmetics (transmog sets, a tabard, titles), pets, mounts (e.g., a ground mount at
Renown 15 and a flying mount “Terror of the Wastes” at 19), gear upgrades (some
Veteran/Champion ilvl pieces at mid-level renown), Endless Augment Rune at Renown
18, and other perks. Reaching Renown 20 grants an achievement and usually the final
cosmetic rewards. The quartermaster NPC in Tazavesh will sell many of these items
once you’ve unlocked the required renown.
How to Earn Renown (All Sources of Reputation)
There are multiple ways to earn K’aresh Trust reputation. Below is a list of all key sources and
how to maximize them:
1. Weekly Dungeon Quest – Dornogal: Each week, an NPC (likely Dornogal) offers a
quest to complete a certain dungeon or a few dungeons. Completing this quest awards a
K’aresh Trust reputation token worth 1,500 rep (or 1,650 rep if under the Darkmoon
Faire buff). This quest can only be done once per week per account (not per
character), so make sure to do it on one of your characters. It’s a hefty chunk of rep for
minimal effort.
2. Bountiful Delve Weekly: Each week, you can complete one Bountiful Delve (a special
Delve with bonus objectives). At the end, the chest will contain a rep token that gives
1,000 rep for a random War Within faction (which includes K’aresh Trust) – or 1,100 rep
if you have the DMF buff active. Since it’s random, you might get rep for another faction,
but on average over time you’ll hit K’aresh occasionally. It’s once per week per account
as well.
3. World Quests: K’aresh has world quests on a rotation. Community data suggests there
are around 10 K’aresh Trust WQs available per week. Each world quest gives roughly 50
rep (55 with DMF). All together, if you do ~10 WQs in a week, that’s about 500 rep (550
with DMF). Important: world quest rep is only awarded for the first time you complete
each unique WQ per week across your account. In other words, you can’t farm the
same WQ on multiple alts for extra rep – it’s once and done, account-wide.
4. Major Zone Events: K’aresh features large scale events (for example, Ecological
Succession, Awakening the Machine, Tazavesh Warrants, etc.). These events occur
throughout the week and typically reward 150 to 350 rep each when completed.
Summing up all events, you can get roughly 1,100 to 2,100 rep per week from events
(depending on how many events spawn and which ones you do). With DMF buff, this
could be ~1,210–2,310 rep. Most rare elite kills in K’aresh are tied into these events, so
you often get the rep for “participating in the event” while you kill rares. Try to do the big
events at least once each if you see them up – they’re a sizable chunk of rep.
5. One-Time Sources: There’s a good amount of one-time rep to jump-start your Renown.
This includes campaign quests (the main story in K’aresh gives a lot of rep), significant
side quest lines, exploring and finding hidden treasures or lore objects, and certain
achievements. These sources give large rep rewards but only once per account. Make
sure to complete all the K’aresh story and side content, not just for the lore and rewards
but also because it can boost you several Renown levels in the first week alone.
Alts and Account-Wide Mechanics
- As mentioned, all repeatable rep sources for K’aresh Trust can only be completed once
per account per week. This means sending multiple alts to do the same world quest or
weekly quest will not grant additional rep.
- However, you can use different characters to do different things. For example, you might
do the Dungeon weekly quest on your main, and a Bountiful Delve on an alt if you prefer,
or world quests on whichever character is convenient – the rep will all accumulate to the
same Renown pool.
- One-time sources (like the campaign quests or one-time treasures) are also
account-wide. If you complete a side quest on your main that awards 500 rep, your alt
cannot do that quest for another 500; it will typically be marked complete. So, plan to do
all those once on whichever character you like.
- The good news is that alts benefit from your Renown unlocks – by leveling Renown on
one character, all your alts can access the rewards (e.g., at Renown 10 you unlocked a
tabard, all characters can use it).
Weekly Reputation Checklist (DMF-Optimized)
To maximize your Renown gains each week (especially when the Darkmoon Faire is running for
the +10% rep buff), here’s a suggested checklist:
1. Darkmoon Faire Buff: If it’s the first week of the month and Darkmoon Faire is active,
stock up on Darkmoon Top Hats or use the carousel to get the +10% rep buff before
turning in any big rep items. This buff lasts 1 hour, and you can reapply it with hats. This affects all rep gains (quest turn-ins, tokens, WQs, etc.).
2. Weekly Dungeon Quest: Complete the dungeon weekly quest and turn in the token for
1,650 rep (with DMF). This is a quick dungeon run for a big chunk of rep.
3. Bountiful Delve: Do a Bountiful Delve and open the chest for 1,100 rep (with DMF). It
might not always go to K’aresh Trust (could hit another faction), but do it regardless for
the chance.
4. World Quests: Complete about 10 K’aresh Trust world quests over the week for roughly
550 rep (with DMF). It’s not a lot, but every bit counts. Prioritize any WQs that give other
useful rewards too (gear, relics, etc.).
5. Major Events: Participate in all major zone events at least once. Total them up for the
week – it should net you somewhere between 1,210 and 2,310 rep (with DMF). Keep an
eye on the in-game event timer or join a community group to catch these events when
they’re active, as they usually require multiple people.
6. One-Time Activities: In the early weeks, ensure you’ve done all one-time rep sources:
finish the full campaign, any side quests, pick up shiny treasures, read lore objects, etc.
These can give you a huge boost – often you might get to Renown 6–8 in the first
couple of days just from one-time stuff. After those are done, they’re off the list.
If you follow the above in a DMF week, you can gather a significant amount of rep. Let’s
estimate the weekly rep with the DMF buff active:
- Dungeon Weekly: ~1,650 rep
- Bountiful Delve: ~1,100 rep
- World Quests: ~550 rep
- Events: ~1,200–2,300 rep (varies)
- Total: roughly 4,500–5,600 rep per week (with high event participation). This equates to
about 1.8 to 2.2 Renown levels per week just from repeatable activities.
In Week 0, thanks to all the one-time sources, you’ll likely gain an additional several Renown
levels on top of that (possibly reaching Renown 10+ very quickly). After that, it’s the steady ~2
renown per week unless you push harder on events.
Pro Tips for Reputation Grind
- Darkmoon Faire is Your Friend: Time your big rep turn-ins with the monthly DMF when
possible. If Patch launch week doesn’t align with DMF, don’t sweat it too much for the
campaign quests (since you want those done ASAP), but definitely use it for weeklies
and world quests. Every 10% adds up over weeks.
- No Extra Rep on Alts: Remember, you can’t “double dip” rep on multiple characters.
Don’t burn yourself out trying to do the same WQs on 5 alts – it won’t give you extra rep
beyond the first completion. Use alts to cover more ground (like doing events that spawn
at the same time), not to repeat the same ground.
- Batch Turn-ins: If you have rep tokens (like the weekly dungeon token or any rep items
from events), try to turn them in while you have a rep buff active. For example, if
DMF isn’t up yet, you can hold a rep token in your bag and turn it in next week when
DMF starts. (Just be mindful of any expiration – most rep tokens don’t expire, but check
the tooltip.)
- Track Your Progress: In-game, the Renown UI for K’aresh Trust will show your current
rank and progress. It’s a good idea to track what you’ve done each week (there are
addons or you can simply make a checklist) so you don’t accidentally miss an easy
source of rep. Over time, you’ll see that Renown bar steadily climb.
- Enjoy the Ride: Renown grinds can feel slow, but mix it up to prevent burnout. Do some
world quests one day, a Delve the next, maybe an event in a group later. Since Renown
is account-wide, you can swap characters for variety – heal a world boss group on your
alt, dps an event on your main, etc. As long as it’s fun and varied, the grind won’t feel as
grindy.
TL;DR – Key Takeaways
- Start Strong: In Week 0 (patch week), focus on preparatory tasks: quest through
K’aresh, get your artifact cloak, run Mythic 0s and Delves, and save your upgrade items
for Season 3.
- Week 1 Rush: Once Season 3 begins, target +10 Mythic+ runs, craft a 720 ilvl item with
your first Spark, continue upgrading your cloak, and hop into the new raid. Open your
vault with a plan (tier pieces are gold).
- Gearing Curve: If you have no life aim to be around ilvl 704-705 by end of Week 1,
~706-708 by end of Week 2 after vault rewards and upgrades. Use upgrade crests on
pieces that matter, and don’t waste Sparks or crests on items you’ll replace.
- Renown Gains: You’ll earn roughly 2 Renown levels per week with K’aresh Trust if you
do all activities (a bit more with DMF). World quests only contribute about 500 rep/week
– the bulk comes from weekly quests and zone events. Use the DMF buff and don’t
bother repeating content on alts (no extra rep).
- Cloak & Runes: Level your Reshii Wraps cloak every week – it’s not only a big power
boost, but also a key to access various content. If you’re hardcore, push to Renown 18
to get the endless augment rune early (100k gold sink). Otherwise, you’ll naturally get it
later in the season or via the raid’s Renown at rank 9.
- Have Fun: Season 3 offers a lot – a new raid, new dungeons, cool lore in K’aresh, and
new ways to power up. Play at your own pace. Some tips are there if you want to no-life
it, but casual players can ignore those and still progress just fine. Enjoy the journey
through Ghosts of K’aresh, and good luck conquering Season 3! 🎉

participation. The detailed weekly upgrade plans and Renown progression provide a framework for
players to optimize gearing, renown, and resources during Week 0 through Week 3 and beyond.
---
Week-by-Week Launch Strategy
This section provides an optimal plan for the first few weeks of Season 3. Follow these checklists to
efficiently gear up and progress without wasting valuable resources. (Casual players can follow the
basics; [Hardcore] steps are optional for those looking to squeeze every advantage.)
Aim to get a variety of Mythic+ dungeons
done to fill your vault options for next week.
Also,, if you have collected enough Ethereal
Don’t
worry about pushing higher than +10 in week 1 unless you’re very confident; focus on consistency and vault coverage.
As long as it’s fun and varied, the grind won’t feel as
grindy.
TL;DR – Key Takeaways (DMF edition)
