Leveling
Leveling
Below is a list of maps for leveling your character from levels 1-275 which I used and recommend assuming you’re in the most ideal condition when training assuming you have optimized your damage to be one shotting the mobs you are killing while also maximizing the exp you acquire via multipliers (to be discussed in the exp multiplier section)
(Tip): When you enter a map if you see someone else training there it's considered a common courtesy to change channels so as to not steal kills from them and hinder their training.
Key: Maps will be in bold.
(*) this will represent Star force maps consult the star force section before moving to these.
Levels 1-10 > Tutorial or Job Specific Quests
Levels 10-30 > Flaming Mixed Golem in Golem’s temple 3
Levels 30-50 > Theme dungeon’s Goldbeach and Riena Strait
Levels 50-60 > Wild boars in Perion Wild Boar Land
Levels 60-70 > Copper Drakes in Sleepywood Silent Swamp
Levels 70-80 > Cellions in Orbis : Stairway to the Sky I
Levels 80-90 > Scorpions in Ariant : Sahel 2
Levels 90-100 > Roids in Alcadno Research Institute Lab - Area C-2
Normal Zakum unlocked at level 100
At level 100 a new daily boss (Normal Zakum) is unlocked; you should be able to kill it with ease assuming you’ve done your 4th job advancement first and if you're lucky you can get a level 100 class weapon from him and a face or eye accessory.
*Levels 100-110 > Blood harps in Minar Forest : Skynest II (5 star force required)
Levels 110-120 > Robos in Ludibrium : Toy Factory
*Levels 120-125 > Gatekeepers in Ludibrium : Warped Passage (28 star force required)
(Tip): while in korean folk town follow the wanted poster quests and accept them as you grind to get both some meso and easy exp while grinding.
Levels 125- 130 > Moon bunny in Korean Folk Town : Black Mountain Entrance
Levels 130-135 > King Goblins in Korean Folk Town : Haunted house & Goblin House
Levels 135-145 > []Bains in El Nath : The Cave of Trials III (55 Star force required)
Theme Dungeon unlocked Kerning Tower
At level 145 you will unlock the theme dungeon Kerning tower. The quest there is long and boring, mostly unnecessary you can ignore it but the mobs here have great exp until you’re level 165 you can accept and move there via the White lightbulb tab on the left of your screen.
Levels 145-155 > Enraged Espresso Machines in Kerning Tower : 2F Cafe <3>
*Levels 155-165 > Enraged Espresso Machines in Kerning Tower : 2F Cafe <4> (80 star force required)
Theme Dungeon Unlocked Omega Sector
At Level 165 you will unlock the theme dungeon Omega Sector I recommend doing and following the questline here and hopefully by the end of it you're at least close to around level 185
Levels 165-175 > Gray luxury Saucer in Inside the Mothership : Corridor 202
*Levels 175-185 > Gray Commuter Saucer in Inside the Mothership : Corridor H01 (140 star force required)
Levels 185-199 > Sinister Rocky Mask in Twilight Perion : Forsaken Excavation Site 2
At level 190 you will unlock a quest in the white light bulb tab for a place called Haven you will not accept it till you're 199 as the quests involve a lot of talking and if we hold off on doing it you can get a free level up from just skipping dialogue and talking to the npcs + a cutscene.
Congratulations, you're now level 200!~
(Tutorial over time for the real early game shit.)
At level 200 you will be introduced to a lot of new things like arcane power, symbols, 5th job, nodestones, etc. But this section is dedicated to just leveling up so go to those sections if you don't know what you're doing here it is at this point which I remind you again these are assuming you are not only one shotting the mobs in the listed maps but that you have the required Arcane Power to do so all while again maximizing your obtained exp.
At level 200 you will unlock the Vanishing journey questline; you must do this and the new 5th job quests and new areas with new symbols that come after this every 5 levels until 255
Levels 200-205 > Tranquil Erdas in Cave of Repose : Below the Cave
Levels 205-210 > Strong Seekers T-Drone Model A in Reverse City : Hidden Research Train
Levels 210-215 > Angry Flyons in Slurpy Forest : Slurpy Forest Depths
Levels 215-220 > Potent Lytones in Yum Yum Island : Hidden Illiard Field
... (document continues with more level paths and details)
Using the In-game Guide
This is a section added by request that works with the leveling section specifically just to show how to use the in-game guide provided since it's the cheapest version of what's basically a tele-rock especially for early game.
Starting out assuming you're not a weirdo and using the old default keys your guide will be found on the U key pressing it once will open the menu immediately recommending a quest or an area to train at according to your level.
Upon clicking on any of the options it lists it'll offer to teleport you there (some areas may require quests or medal completions to be able to teleport) at the bottom you will be shown several towns you may teleport to clicking the button on the bottom left to switch it to fields it will then switch to maps with mobs for you to kill.
Using the gear or Widget on the right side of the screen you can customize a personal “Fast Travel” for yourself by putting whatever map you frequent in it.
(tip): as of the most recent change this June you can now teleport where you want for free once every 5 minutes or pay maple points for a telerock
Boss “Content”
Looking at the top of the guide you will notice several tabs you may switch between clicking on the boss content tab it will show you the games way of telling you which boss is more difficult than the other and properly lining you up to give you a good idea of not only what the boss can possibly drop but also what you are able to personally do.
Clicking on one of the boss icons will show you not only what the boss can drop but also offer to teleport you there.
Something to remember is that the difficulty scaling for these bosses is not a linear graph as Nexon may be trying to show you here there are huge sudden jumps in difficulty due to increased boss hp or mechanics between certain bosses some you may find too easy while some you may find too difficult. (I will not be going over boss mechanics, there's too many to fit on this guide)
Special Content
Progressing to the final tab in the guide named “special content” upon clicking it you'll be greeted with this.
This section will show you “content” that's available for you to do most of it old and out of date rarely even touched though some of it has chairs and medals if you care to collect those some of it is still useful though like Maple Tour & Ursus : Free Meso
Mu Lung Dojo : Damage testing + ranks and a shop
The Afterlands : Permanent (free) Totems
Stellar Detectives/Hyperspace cube : Special rings that you may need (depending on the class)
Monster Park : Decent amount of exp after doing a small dungeon + important potions from an npc using the park's coins that you will need later on for literally everything.
(theres alot im not listing them all just the important ones I can remember)
The entire right side section titled “Arcane River” shows all the weekly quests you’re able to do (they're basically mini party quests or minigames) they give a large amount of exp (depending on your level) and symbols which you'll need for (200+)
Due to the update on June 10th you can now teleport anywhere once for free every 5 minutes buying a telerock in the bottom left for maple points will cost maple points and get rid of the timer.
EXP Multipliers
This section will list the many EXP multipliers in game (as of April 2025) that you can use as when it comes to grinding your characters from level 1 to 200 or even beyond you’ll of course want to be doing it as efficiently as you can to not only get there fast but to also waste less time as every level will naturally increase in exp required to get to the next.
The most important thing to keep in note when looking into maximizing your exp obtained is to always 1 shot mobs. 1 shotting mobs is more important than whatever exp multiplier you have and not 1 shotting mobs will reduce your efficiency heavily.
Frenzy Totem - This is one of the MOST important things when training above 200+ some use it even earlier to get out of the 1-200 zones faster it increases not only the spawn rate of mobs by about 3.5x but the amount of mobs that can spawn as well for 10 minutes each cast.
Chains Of Resentment - This totem is Nexons response to Frenzy no longer being obtainable and as of April 2025 they are available to get either from special events, through auction house, or through the cash shop by gambling the only difference between these and frenzy is COR has a time limit and will eventually expire.
Cashshop EXP coupons - within cashshop there are coupons that you can buy using either reward points (only 2 a month), real money, or Maple Points they stack with everything but can only be used on characters that are below level 250.
EXP Coupons - These coupons are the one of the most important to remember to use. They come in many variants from 1.2-3x coupons and last anywhere from 15 minutes up to 1 hour. They are available from a lot of places like events, monster park, and legion coin shop.
MVP / Bonus EXP coupons - These coupons drop from bosses or can be obtained as a bonus reward for spending a certain amount of real money in the cash shop they can also be bought and sold on the Auction House; they give a basic 50% exp effect that stacks with almost everything except what it lists.
Runes - Within maple as you're training you will run into these they're on almost every map usually on your minimap as a purple icon getting close to them and pressing your interact/harvest will give you a 100% exp multiplier that lasts only 3 minutes but it can be extended upto 5 with the Evan class link.
Monster Park Extreme Gold Potion - completing a round of monster park will give you coins and using them at the nearby shop will allow you to buy this potion which grants 10% EXP for 30 minutes.
EXP Accumulation Potion - This potion can be crafted using the profession tab however it can also be obtained from boss drops as well as from events or bought from auction house upon use it grants 10% exp for 30 minutes however there are larger bottles that grants 10% for 2 hours and even a concentrated version that grants 20% exp for 30 minutes.
Mercedes Link Skill - Upon getting a level 70 Mercedes you'll be able to move the link skill to other characters starting off at just 10% exp but getting it to 20% at level 210.
EXP Hyper Stats - Pulling up your character info at the bottom of the hyper stats section on the left you'll see an EXP obtained stat putting it upto level 15 will earn you 10% EXP.
Burning Field - While cycling through channels and maps looking for a place to train you will occasionally see a message appear across your screen indicating the field is “burning” and has a 0-100% EXP boost on it depending on how long someone has been there it slowly decreases until eventually reaching 0%.
Legion Grid Bonus - once you have at least 500 total levels and a level 200 character the grid will be unlocked upon hitting 6000 total levels you'll fully unlock the grid upon slotting in the full EXP section you will receive a total of 10% EXP
Zero Legion Grid Block - Upon making a zero if you slot it anywhere into the legion grid it will give you an additional 4% EXP but upon hitting level 200 it will become 10% EXP.
Aran Link Skill - This is more useful for the early levels but this still helps to a small degree later on increasing the amount of EXP the combo kill orbs give you which already give you 5x monster exp with the link increasing it by another 400%/650%/900% depending on the Aran’s level 70/120/210.
Decent Holy Symbol - Upon unlocking 5th job and opening nodes you can obtain a buff skill called Decent Holy Symbol upgrading it to level 30 (25 + 5) will give you a 35% EXP bonus.
Pendant of the spirit - This pendant can be obtained from events, doing your daily 300 mob kills, or from Auction house with them varying in duration the way it works is upon wearing it you gain a 10% EXP bonus which will increase to 20% then 30% after having it equipped for 2 hours resetting it back down to 10% if you unequip it. (some can have their duration extended)
Prepared Pendant of the Spirit - Does everything the same as listed above without having to charge it gives a 30% EXP bonus while equipped.
Usually only available from events. (these CANNOT be extended)
Character Building I node - once you've unlocked 5th job one of the purple nodes you can use will grant a 50% EXP bonus for 20 seconds after you've been hit by an enemy 100 times.
Holy Symbol - If you're a cool awesome person who plays a cool awesome class like Bishop (not biased btw) then at your 3rd job you'll unlock the real gucci holy symbol which gives 50% EXP bonus and once you unlock hyper skills you can upgrade it once more even further to get a 70% EXP bonus
Firestarter - similar to Frenzy this is a cast item you can buy from sellers for about 40-50m a cast giving the map a “burning field” effect starting at 100% extra exp on top of all your buffs and decreasing once every 15 minutes.
Frenzy Totem is unable to be acquired anymore (unless you buy it from someone who already has it) and as such you must instead purchase it as a service people offer.
As of the time of writing this the price for service is around 40 million meso an hour.
As for who sells it I will not be listing them as these Totems change hands ALOT.
(tip): if you're having trouble one shotting mobs I recommend you look at the following sections which I find are often overlooked.
Link skills, legion, Artifact, inner ability/hyperstats and dont forget to use things like guild skills since they're now only on a 5 minute cooldown.
Taking Advantage of Events
This section will simply give a quick brief idea and list of what to look for during an event and to keep an eye out for a number of goodies a lot of events will likely offer.
1. Cubes
2. Clean slate scrolls
3. Flames
4. Event rings
5. Unique, legendary potential scrolls, or epic bonus potential scrolls
6. EXP Nodestones
7. Symbols
8. nx outfits
9. chairs
10. Mounts
11. Exp coupons
12. Prepared pendant of the spirit
13. Ark innocence scrolls
14. Star force scrolls
15. Sol Erda Fragments/energy
16. Free level potions
Using Cash shop Effectively
(not buying useless shit)
While playing maplestory you will be tempted to purchase SHIT out of the cash shop while most of it is mostly cosmetic a lot of stuff either is no longer useful or just completely useless (like these)
There is very few items in the cash shop that aren't purely just for cosmetic purposes that are truly useful to progression like the Monster park additional run tickets
Many of the items in here involving gambling (surprise style boxes, Gachapon tickets, philosopher books, lucky boxes, and that's just naming what's currently in the shop rotation) these are just basically scams and that's not to say you can't get lucky and get something actually worthwhile or extremely expensive and useful but it’s best not to approach these things unless you truly want to gamble but do understand the risk you may be incurring by throwing money into a large pit.
The only scam item that's actually worth something and absolutely necessary for progression are cubes (glowing, bright, bonus glowing)
These items while once again being gambling are REQUIRED to progress you do not have to buy them from the cash shop to get far into the game but you will have to suffer their terrible rates regardless eventually.
(tip): You dont actually have to “buy” these cubes you can get f2p cubes from bosses daily or weekly except for the “Bonus Glowing Cubes” you can only get them from events or the cashshop
I ultimately cannot tell you how to spend your money or what to spend it on all I aim to do here is to help encourage you to do your own research on the games rates of the items in the cash shop before spending to make you a wiser spender and to not bankrupt yourself trying for something with a .00001% chance.

Bosses
Bosses
Bossing is ultimately where most of the game lies nowadays. Partying up or even soloing bosses can increase your gains massively from equip drops and splitting it amongst the party to selling their souls for money each week. This section will talk about how to sell the boss souls, go over which daily bosses are worth running still, and about Reward Points, how they work, what you can buy with them, and what's worth buying with them.
After you kill a boss depending on if its a daily or a weekly boss the crystal that drops will be either Blue (daily), Purple (weekly) or Gold (Monthly)
(ignore the gold one i couldnt find a better pic lol)
At the top left of your screen in any town you will see a gray button that has an arrow clicking on it will give you a menu with the important things in the area. It's a quick way to access stuff you'd have to otherwise find. The “Crystals & Elixirs” section is the one we want.
Upon click it you'll be brought to his “store” where you'll immediately notice a couple things including a limit on how many souls you can sell and even a price list which is based off of how many people you cleared the boss with (the more people you clear it with the less money you get) as well some extremely useful potions for bossing assuming you’ve done the required quest beforehand.
What (early game) Bosses are still worth running
This section is quick and simple. Almost every boss is still worth running even if it's just for the reward points you get after you turn it in; however some are worth more than just the reward points such as.
Zakum - can give decent weapons as well as a face and eye accessory for your level 100 characters.
Horntail - can drop a good early game pendant as well as a pair of earrings and one of the best early game rings for your characters.
Von Leon - can drop several very useful accessories and assuming you've done the latter half of his questline with his dead wife in the garden you can turn 10 of them in for a Ifia’s ring that's just as good as the ring from horntail that can have potential lines.
Arkarium - Can drop 1 fairly decent mule pendant and 1 other slightly better pendant.
Pink Bean - can drop numerous accessories that are useful like the Pink Bean Cup, Golden Clover Belt, and Black Bean Mark.
Magnus - can drop one of the few badges in game as well as a decent early game shoulder
Hard Ranmaru - can drop a multitude of items including stamps which are required for making an item 3 lines of potential instead of 2
Normal Vellum and Normal Crimson Queen - they can still drop their soul shards at normal which makes them worth farming to potentially get a mag soul that is SSS rank
This is just listing the few bosses that most decently geared up mules/characters can solo kill with a couple deaths assuming you know the mechanics well enough to not wipe.
(tip):If you open the boss menu and the boss is grayed out it's more than likely you're either not the required level to do the boss or you haven't done the pre-quest required to do the boss at least once.
Reward Points
After you've finished bossing you can claim reward points for each boss you've done you get 30 for a daily, 200 for a weekly, and 1000 for a monthly boss. On the left side of the screen you'll find the pink little gift box and upon clicking it you'll be greeted with this now assuming you've defeated a boss without having already claimed them once for the day you can click the button to receive all your reward points which will be deposited into your cash shop
Once you have claimed them be sure to collect them by entering the cash shop at least once on the left side of the shop you'll find your reward points total as well as the button to take you to the reward points section where you can buy a lot of things most importantly however there are 15 cubes a month available for reward points 5 glowing cubes, 5 bright cubes, and 5 bonus glowing cubes. I absolutely recommend buying them out before the month is over as it will help speed along your progression for free. Now as for what to do with the rest of your points? Save them or spend them on stuff like the monster park tickets or the 2x cashshop coupon if you're training a character below level 250.
(Tip): If you run weekly bosses on one character claim the reward points then wait till reset and run it on another character you'll then be able to claim the reward points again
You may do this ^ until you either run out of mules to run on or until you hit the daily cap of 5000 reward points or the monthly cap of 50000 reward points.
Big Money Drops
Big Money Drops
Depending on the boss you run some of the stuff they drop can actually be worth something instead of just pennies. This list will go over the boss and what the drop is that's actually worth something.
(tip): most of these bosses are really strong and as such i do not recommend you to read through this section unless you already have a good understanding of what you're doing and are sufficienty strong.
I will not be going over the market price of the item I list as the market fluctuates heavily and depending on when you're reading this the items i list could be worth literally nothing or everything.
Arkarium - Dominator Pendant
Chaos Papulatus - Papulatus Mark
Guardian Angel Slime - Guardian Angel Ring
Hard Lotus - Berserked, and Black heart
Hard Damien - Magic Eyepatch
Hard Will - Cursed Spellbook, Twilight Mark, and Arcane wep/armor box
box
Hard Lucid - Dreamy Belt, Twilight Mark, and Arcane wep/armor box
The Red highlighted bosses can all drop a Red Jade Boss Ring Box which can contain level 1-4 Oz Rings.
Chaos Guardian Angel Slime - Guardian Angel Ring
Hard Darknell - Commanding Force Earrings, Arcane wep/armor box
Hard Verus Hilla - Source of Suffering, Arcane wep/armor box
The Gray highlighted bosses can all drop the Black Jade Boss Ring Box which can contain a level 1-4 Oz ring with a slightly better chance for the higher level ones.
Hard Black Mage - Genesis badge, Arcane wep/armor box
Hard Chosen Seren - Mitra’s rage
Easy Kalos - Residual Determination Fragment, Grindstone of Life
Normal Kalos - Residual Determination, Grindstone of Life
Easy Kaling - Ferocious Entanglement Ring Fragment, Grindstone of Life
Normal Kaling - Ferocious Entanglement Ring, Grindstone of Life
Extreme Lotus - Total Control, Berserked, Black heart
The Bosses Not highlighted above can all drop a White Jade Boss Ring Box which can only drop either a level 3 or 4 Oz ring.
I will not be including anything past Extreme Lotus as if you can do any of the bosses even close to him then why are you even reading this guide?
Honorable Mention : Princess No
She doesn't drop anything particularly expensive however she does drop “captivating fragments” which are used to craft princess no secondaries which are a lot of classes Best in slot secondaries.
Now keep in mind all these Items have suuuper low drop chances and as such you should temper your expectations so as to not get your hopes up
Nodestones
Nodestones
In this section I will simply be explaining a bit more about nodestones and the node system as there is a beautiful website that more properly explains each class's best boost nodes and saves me the hassle of explaining that mess.
When it comes to nodes there are only 4 different kinds you can open From left to right you have the classic nodestone opening it grants you a random node skill or node boost, next is the experience nodestone opening it grants a node that’s used to enhance nodes granting a large amount of xp to the selected node when upgrading it, next up is the Mirror world nodestone obtained from defeating Will opening it grants the Arachnid Reflection Skill it can only be enhanced with other red nodes or the green experience nodes. And finally we have the Mitra’s nodestone obtained only after defeating Seren only useable for people who have completed the Cernium questline (260+) using it grants you the Solar Crest Skill once again just like the mirror world node it can only be enhanced with nodes like itself or the green experience nodes.
(you can also buy all these nodes in the Auction House except for the green one its only obtained by events)
To open the 5th job tab all you have to do is open your skills tab and go to the 5th section and click on the blue V to open it.
Upon Opening your 5th job section you'll be greeted with something similar to this just empty and with fewer slots and no yellow border. (by the time you're 260 you'll have unlocked them all) You will start with some class specific skills or even race specific skills depending on your class or race, upon opening nodes you will obtain skill, boost, or special nodes randomly.
You can craft a specific node of your choice by clicking on node crafting opening up a new section. Once again this will look different for you depending on what kind of class you are playing. The max level of all nodes except for the purple special one is level 25 however the slot the node is in can be leveled up 5 times eventually equaling out to (25+5) or level 30 and giving it the yellow border. (See Examples above)
There are going to be certain skill nodes that are more useful to use depending on your class and some that are absolutely necessary I will list just some of them.
1. Decent Holy Symbol - this skill grants additional EXP every class should grab this unless you're a Bishop who has the real holy symbol.
2. Decent Sharp Eyes - this skill gives more crit damage and critical rate once used once again every class should have this unless you're an archer class which has the real sharp eyes (only some do so double check)
3. Decent Speed Infusion - passive skill which grants you more attack speed absolutely necessary unless you're already hitting attack speed cap.
4. Decent Combat Orders- buff skill which when used gives all your 4th job skills an extra level going over the cap and increasing certain skill damage immensely.
5. Decent Advanced Blessing - another buff skill which when used grants an att/M-att boost
6. Blink - this skill isn't very useful for early game but once you get further into learning the mechanics of bosses this skill becomes a life saver and a requirement in some.
7. Erda Nova - Depending on your class when bossing you'll come to find out you do not have a bind which is a skill that when used can stun the boss for 10 seconds allowing you to deal massive damage to it before it continues moving. This skill is a bind.
8. Erda Shower - this skill is an absolute must have for training its alternate toggle puts down a summon which lasts 60 seconds and has a 60 second cool down and will help you farm more efficiently.
And finally boost nodes, these are the most important notes besides skills.
Instead of explaining everything about them I'm going to give you a link that has all the info for boost node trios your class will need. I recommend reading the top half of what it says before looking for what your class needs. It goes into great depth and is fairly up to date and correct.
https://thedigitalcrowns.com/perfect-boost-nodes-for-every-class-maplestor y-2021/
PLEASE read what it says and follow along carefully because the difference between proper and improper boost node trios is tremendous in some cases literally 120% final damage to the skill it's boosting.
Symbols
Symbols
Symbols are self explanatory maple story originally made them to artificially add time to the game making a tedious annoying task that hindered the players ability to push forward even if they were the required level due to “Arcane Power” nowadays it is faster and cheaper than ever before to go through the arcane river so long as you keep up with your dailies and do your weekly bosses you should never struggle to have enough money to upgrade your Arcane symbols from level 1-20 with the total stat gained at the end assuming you've upgraded all 6 to level 20 coming out to 13,200 stat and 1320 arcane power.
Getting past the Arcane river and into 260+ Nexon throws another one of these at you this time changing the name to “Sacred Force” changing little to nothing about how it works once more forcing you to wait and waste time to have enough power to farm at mobs you're probably already 3 levels ahead of. The only difference this time besides the amount of stat it gives is the ungodly cost to upgrade these symbols which is ridiculously high with the last upgrade costing usually around or over 1 billion meso.
Here is a picture showing the total cost to max out a sacred symbol and below will be one for Arcane symbols
Link Skills
kLink Skills
In this section I will show you two link skill set examples that I use, one for bossing and one for training. Unless you are a bishop yours will not look exactly like mine as it is entirely dependent on your class and character setup as to what link skills may be more valuable and useful to you than others. For that info I recommend consulting your class discord for what link skills are best for your class.
(Tip): Certain skills may need more than 1 character to hit the max level for example the resistance class link (spirit of freedom) needs all resistance classes (mechanic, wild hunter, battle mage, and blaster) to become level 8.
Elementalism - Kanna - max level 2 - Gives 10% Damage
Focus Spirit - Lynn - max level 3 - Gives 10% Boss DMG, 10% crit rate and 5% hp/mp
Fury Unleashed - Demon Slayer - max level 3 - Gives 20% Boss DMG
Judgement - Kinesis - max level 2 - Gives 4% crit DMG
Light Wash - Luminous - max level 3 - Gives 20% IED
Qi Cultivation - Mo Xuan - max level 2 - Gives 16% Boss DMG (while attacking a boss)
Solus - Ark - max level 3 - 16% DMG (while attacking)
Spirit of freedom - resistance classes - max level 8 - Gives an 8s iframe upon respawning after dying.
Terms and Conditions - Angelic Buster - max level 3 - a buff skill you can use for 60% DMG for 10s
Thief’s Cunning - Explorer Thieves - max level 6 - Gives 18% DMG upon debuffing an enemy
Unfair Advantage - Cadena - max level 2 - 6% DMG against debuffed mobs
Wild Rage - Demon Avenger - max level 3 - Gives 15% DMG
(Freebie because im a mage and i dont need to slot it in for it to stack)
Empirical Knowledge - Explorer Mages - max level 6 - Gives enemy a debuff upon attacking them giving you the following bonuses against them 9% DMG and 9% IED
(Im being forced to include this as some people do use these links instead of luminous if they already have too much IED or they swap out spirit of freedom)
Time to Prepare - Kain - max level 2 - Gives 17% DMG upon meeting specific conditions
Hybrid Logic - Xenon - max level 2 - All stats +10%
Tree of Stars - Sia - max level 3 - gives 10% buff duration and 3% critical damage
Next is going to be what links I use while im training again some links may vary depending on the class you're playing so you do not have to follow it 100% I will once again mention if you do not know what's best to use for you consult your class discord or someone else who is also playing your class.
Some link skills that were previously mentioned are going to be here. I will not be explaining them again. I will only be explaining what links haven't been explained yet.
Bravado - Hoyoung - max level 2 - Gives you 10% IED and 14% DMG against enemies with 100% hp
Elven Blessing - Mercedes - max level 3 - Gives you a passive 20% EXP boost
Nature’s Friend - Lara - max level 2 - Gives 11% normal monster DMG for 30s
Rune Persistence - Evan - max level 3 - Increases the amount of time a runes exp boost lasts by 70%
Tide of Battle - Illium - max level 2 - Gives 12% dmg while moving
Combo Kill Blessing - Aran - max level 3 - Increases the amount of exp you get from the combo kill orbs by 900%
(some use this link when training new early game characters some even use it late game I just dont)
(tip): This tip is brought to you by popular demand as so many people seem to mess this up but PLEASE remember that Demon Avenger’s main stat is HP and as such his gear must be HP scrolled and HP Potential’d.
Legion
This section will be quite long as we will be going over Legion, the Legion shop, the Legion Grid, as well as the new Legion Artifacts. Starting us off with a brief explanation on what Legion is, how to unlock it, and why it's so important.
What is Legion?
Legion is an important system that allows players to use their characters as attackers on a battlefield while having them give huge bonuses account-wide based on the level and job of each character.
Unlocking Legion
To unlock Legion your account must first have
1. A level 200 character thats completed the 5th job quest
2. A total level of 500 across the account
The Legion Grid
Upon hitting the requirement and after opening the legion tab you'll see this, this is the Legion Grid the best way to think of this grid is to imagine it is like a game of Tetris you want to find the most efficient way of filling up the grid with only what stats you want/need.
It is small but as you get more legion you will slowly begin to unlock the full board size until you hit 6000 and have unlocked the full board looking a little something like this.
As you can already guess by now the amount of important stat you can get here for basically free is tremendous and absolutely necessary to do if you ever plan on being a mid to end game player
You not only get bonus stats from the board but you also get bonus stats depending on the class, and level of the character you slot into the board (see examples)
Depending on the class and level of the character you slot into the board the “tetris” piece will look different (see example)
Your characters rank is determined by its level heres a chart showing the requirements to “level up” a character to the next rank up
Each class will also give you its own different bonus when put onto the board but there's way too many classes to list here for a short list so your best bet is to research it yourself with the link provided.
https://maplestorywiki.net/w/Legion_System
Legion raids and the Legion Shop
Once you've built your legion up adequately you'll begin to collect coins based on how much power your legion raid has which is based on the “strength” of the characters you have slotted into your legion raid team accruing coins while offline or afk until you hit the cap and you collect them.
Here's the formula to determine how much legion raid power you'll earn from a single character.
Within every town using the quick move button (or you can find them in town) you can access the legion coin shop to use the coins you've obtained and grab a bunch of useful items for training, bossing, or even progression starting out you'll be earning almost no coins but once you've got a decently strong legion you'll be earning a couple hundred a day.
The most ideal legion is at the MINIMUM 6000 with the most perfect being 8000 anything over is just for tryhards
With only the highest level 42 characters you make counting towards your legion you'll need to have at least every character in your legion level 191 assuming you do not have a main chosen yet to hit 8k legion
(tip): if you’re lazy and only want 6k legion you'll only need to have your top 42 characters level 143 again assuming you do not have a main.
(update)
Finally after forever Maplestory finally added a “legion Solver” no more playing tetris now the game will automatically do it for you.
After you click “assign members” at the bottom left of the board you will see the new “Auto Place” button appear clicking it will pull this up. This will show you all the characters you have that you can select and have them place for you once you're done selecting all that you can proceed to the blue button on the right that says “select placement area”
(be sure to go through and make sure you've selected the characters you want the auto solver to place for you)
After you've clicked the button you'll be presented with a clear board that will allow you to fill in what you want or need for your legion board.
Depending on the level of your characters and what you've selected you'll be able to see just how many blocks you can have filled in at the top
Upon filling it in with exactly what you want you’ll go ahead and click auto placement at the bottom right the game will then calculate how to fit in the characters you gave it to fill the board how youre telling it
Once it is done it will show you the results of what you selected (if it doesn't calculate it right away just give it a minute and if it takes longer than that you may need to select either a different character to slot in or a different board set up as the game is having difficulty playing tetris with the pieces you gave it.)
Once you’re sure it's given you what you wanted go ahead and click “confirm placement” at the bottom right where you'll be taken back one more screen where you will then yet again click the bright blue button that says “confirm”
Congratulations your legion board is now pretty and not a mess lol.
Almost forgot there is also “Legion Presets” which allow you to swap in and out of legion boards allowing you to have multiple boards for different character set ups or different purposes like training or bossing.
I will show you my presets just for examples
Pictured here is my legion preset 3 as shown down in the middle which I use for bossing on my other characters
Once again pictured above is my training legion I use this for when im training on my main or training new characters it is set to preset 1
(tip): The more astute couple of you may have noticed that i have 2 legion blocks that aren't characters they're from older events and allow me to go over the limit by 2 whole pieces they're pretty nice so be sure to keep an eye out for them since they have rereleased before.
(tip): if you click on the middle sections of the board with the stat you can swap out the place and move them around allowing you to customize the middle of the board to better suit your class and prevent wasteful placements.
Legion Artifact
This section will give you a brief explanation of Legion Artifact; it will not be telling you what stat to focus on putting on your crystals first as it is entirely dependent on your class and current gear as for what you'll need. Please discuss that with your class discord to figure it out.
Legion Artifact allows characters to level up Crystals (also known as Artifacts) which give various huge stat boosts to ALL characters within the world.
In order to obtain and level up Crystals you will need to complete missions and obtain Artifact EXP and Artifact Points to do so you will need to complete missions; These are the three types of missions:
● Normal missions
○ These missions reset weekly, and require the player to defeat a certain number of monsters within level range or log in for a certain number of days. The missions reward an equal amount of Artifact EXP and Artifact Points.
● Boss missions
○ These missions reset weekly. The player will be rewarded an equal amount of Artifact EXP and Artifact Points based on the difficulty of the 3 hardest weekly bosses they defeated in that week.
● Special missions
○ These missions can be completed only once per world and reward players with only Artifact EXP. The missions are a mix of challenges including reaching certain ranks in Legion System, completing area quests, defeating bosses for the first time, acquiring medals, and more.
These are the key things regarding Legion Artifact:
● Artifact Level - the current Legion Artifact level. Crystals are unlocked as you level up.
● Artifact EXP - used to increase your Artifact Level.
● Artifact AP - used to level up Crystals which will boost the stats on each Crystal. (AP is rewarded when reaching a new Artifact Level.)
● Artifact Points - used to change and extend the duration of a Crystal's stats, and to reset all assigned Artifact AP.
Upon right clicking one of the artifacts/crystals in the Artifact UI you'll be shown some options
● Convert Stats - Opens a menu for you to select and change the stats to whatever of your choosing (see example)
● Level up Rank - Using Artifact AP (at the bottom right of the artifact UI) you can rank up the Artifact up to a maximum of level 5
● Extend duration - it’s a bit self explanatory but using your Artifact points you've obtained from missions you can extend the duration the stats the Artifact gives you.
One of the key things to remember when setting up your Artifacts is that the max level of any stat can only be 10 and if you go over the limit it will not count or go higher instead showing a red line indicating you're over the limit and it's not applying above the specified level.
(tip): If you're insistent on not consulting your class discord and instead just want immediate damage increase I recommend you do the following bonuses first but for a proper increase in damage please ask them because you might use something different than what i use.
MAKE SURE THERE'S 2 ARTIFACTS WITH EACH OF THE 3 LISTED SO YOU GET THE FULL LEVEL 10 BONUS
Damage
Boss Damage
Crit Damage
All stats
Attack Power
Ignore Defense
Buff duration
Item drop rate
EXP obtained
Legion Champion
Upon hitting 8k legion you will be able to begin a quest from the Legion NPC “Dame Appropriation” called "Champion's Path" introducing you to the new Champion Legion system which can be found in the tab below
Artifacts
Opening the tab you'll be greeted with 6 slots 2 of which are unlocked to you at the start you'll want to slot in your 1st, 2nd, and later your 3rd main if you have one starting off with no rank or bonus at first you'll have to do some quests to unlock the rank up steadily increasing in difficulty as you go
B rank : Solo Hard lotus in 20 minutes
A rank : solo Hard Verus Hilla in 20 minutes
S rank : solo Hard Black Mage in 40 minutes
SS rank : solo Hard Seren in 20 minutes
SSS Rank : solo Normal Kalos in 20 minutes
(tip): The bosses do not need to be defeated in a regular run and will instead have a special “champion” mode which you can also do in practice mode so that it doesn't count towards a real run just in case you run those bosses with others.
Each rank up presents you with account wide bonuses for each character stacking as you go up in starting first with
B rank : 20 all stat and 1000 hp/mp
A rank : 10 attack/magic attack
S rank : 5% boss damage
SS rank : 3% crit damage
SSS rank : 5% IED
(tip): upon completing the required rank up quest be sure to right click and “rank up” the character so you can then unlock and begin the next rank up quest
Once you've ranked them up as much as you can and you’ve hopefully slotted in all 2 or 3 you can then click on the big purple button labeled “Champion Battleground”
To explain it very quickly and simply you will be taken to a large map with a bunch of mobs on it where you will kill as many as you can as fast as you can eventually spawning in a boss monster which you will then kill.
Each character you have in there will have an individual 3 minute time limit on them meaning you can only be on one for 3 minutes each before you are forced out
Depending on the score you obtain and how far you get into the battleground will determine the score/points you obtain and can then use on a special buff called “Champion’s renown” which can be found in your beginner tab clicking it will pull up this screen
This will allow you to create your own custom 30 minute buff depending on what you want the cost will increase as well as the power of the buff
Familiar System
This section can be skipped if you're in early game as Familiars is something you will concern yourself with later in game and can be expensive, annoying, and painful. (its basically gambling)(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
Upon opening your UI you’ll be greeted with this and while it may seem confusing its actually quite simple
Starting out you will only have 1 card slot for you to put a “familiar” into to summon it. To unlock the max which is 3 you'll need to have 10 total familiar badges.
Now unlocking these familiar badges will require you to hunt the mob it specifies and collect one of its cards and use it which may take a while or may not even be possible as some mobs just don't exist anymore; Or you can buy the card from the auction house which can be expensive.
As shown in the example picture above each badge will give you a different set of monsters you'll need to collect and upon collecting and using all their cards you'll unlock the badge allowing you to then equip it and obtain the stats it lists on the left
This is more for min-maxing so skip if you don't care but this will be useful later on in the future.
(tip): The stat the badges can give you can only be stacked a total of 3 times before turning yellow meaning you're only getting half the amount of stat it tells you from that line upon getting one more line of the same stat it will turn red meaning you are not receiving anything from that line.
As you collect mob cards you will more than likely fill up your monster card “collection” this tab's purpose is so that you may check out what cards you’ve collected. Here you can decide what you want to do with them either keeping them and leveling them up, ranking their rarity up along the way or scraping them for points to use in the familiar points shop.
(tip): to equip a card go to setup and either double click or drag and drop it into one of the empty slots.
(tip:) To summon the familiar go to your beginner skill tab and at the bottom there will be a skill to summon them.
The card's rarity will determine the amount of what kind of stats that can roll on it and what can even roll on it. These are the 5 rarities with only the first 4 able to be obtained for “free” so for our purposes we will not mention legendary.
Common, Rare, Epic, Unique, Legendary
To unveil a familiar’s potential you have to first click on the card in the collection and click on the question mark it shows below it, If you get a familiar with a line you wish to keep you can go to the right near the rest of the cards and click the lock to lock it and prevent it from being scraped
Any familiar below Epic rank is useless to unveil its potential as they do not have the lines of stat that we want on them until Epic or above
At epic, unique, and legendary you will have to keep your eye out for a couple of lines that the familiar can reveal itself with such as
1. Increases Item Drop Rate by a Large Amount (100%)
2. Any line that says it restores or heals you and party members
3. Boss damage 20-40%
4. Ignore Enemy Defense (IED) 20-40%
5. Item Drop Rate +10%
Depending on the rarity of the familiar you get any of these lines on will determine the minimum and maximum the line can be for example Epic grade familiars can get as low as 20% boss damage whereas Unique grade can achieve a maximum of 40% boss damage.
Now to rank up a familiar you will first need to level it up to level 5 which can be done by training with it while it's summoned.
Upon hitting level 5 you will then need to (fuse) other cards of the same monster into it the amount of which goes up with its rarity with it costing 50 at common, 100 at rare, and 150 at epic.
Assuming you've done all the previous steps once you click rank up it'll flash a bit before either ranking up or failing to rank up which will require you to fuse more cards into it to try again the % chance to rank up a card is dependent on the rarity you're trying to rank it up to
Common to Rare is a 100% chance
Rare to Epic is a 80% chance
Epic to Unique is a 40% chance
Upon ranking up a familiar its potential you had revealed on it will be reset allowing you to once more reveal it and see if you got anything useful.
However once it hits unique you can no longer rank it up for free using the fusion method presenting you with a couple of things you can do
Either you scrap it and start all over again, you use money and buy red familiar cards from cashshop which can be used to reroll a familiar with a ridiculously low chance of tiering it up to legendary, or you can use the “free” familiar cards that are within the familiar shop however they cannot tier up a familiar and instead just reroll it.
(tip): They keep removing and re-adding these free cards from the familiar shop so good luck lmao.
Equipment Progression
This section has A LOT of stuff to go over so do your best not to get confused. First we’re going to go over the basics before we get to the final most important part which will be what most of you want to know.
Potentials
When you pick up an item you may find the item has a border around it looking something like this.
If you move over to the Magnifying glass at the bottom of your inventory screen and click on it then drag your cursor over to the item with the unrevealed potential you can reveal its potential and bonus potential for mesos the amount of which depends on the level of the item you're revealing.
The color will indicate the rarity of the potential starting at Rare which is Blue to Epic which is Purple then to Unique which is Yellow, and finally Legendary which is Green.
Potentials will either have 2 or 3 lines when revealed totaling 6 lines of stat on a single item. Using a Stamp you can increase the lines from 2 to 3 if you got unlucky and only got 2 lines. If the item has no potential you can also buy a Potential scroll to put a potential onto it.
If the item you put a potential on reveals and does not have a potential you want you can use items called Mystical Cubes to change the items potential or even potentially rank it up from rare to epic, keep in mind it will cost meso to roll the potential of an item costing more depending once again on the level of the item being rolled.
There are various different kinds of cubes that can do all kinds of things and only those cubes can take your item to higher ranks.
The purple ones are called “Solid Cubes” and the green ones are called “Hard Cubes” both can be obtained rarely from killing bosses of any difficulty the green ones can only take your item up to unique and reroll unique or lower potentials where as the purple one can take your item up to legendary and reroll legendary or lower potentials.
In most cases the Ideal Potential on an item depends on what the item is if its an Accessory, top, bottom, shoes, cape, shoulder, or android heart the ideal potential lines for those would be whatever you main stat is for your class for example if you're a mage you'd want something like this.
(tip): keep in mind when cubing an item the bonus potential is much harder to roll and as such 2 line bonus potential items are typically a good keeper as 3 line items are either too expensive or super difficult to roll for.
Now when it comes to the rest of the basic equipment like your hat and gloves there are very specific potential lines you want on these items with your gloves you're going to want something like this. The Critical damage lines are worth more than whatever amount of stat you could get on gloves.
Now when it comes to the Hat what you may need is entirely dependent on your class as some classes just need whatever stat they require however if you're for example a Dual blade your class is going to require Cooldown Reduction lines in the potential instead of stat. For your hat I recommend consulting your class discord to see what it is you need exactly.
Now onto the final 3 most important equipment you have to be careful with.
Your Weapon, Secondary Weapon, and Emblem.
These 3 Items can roll numerous amounts of potential lines however there are only 3 potentials lines you will ever want to consider and they are
1. Attack/Magic Attack%
2. Boss Damage%
3. Ignore Enemy Defense%
Depending on your class you will have to carefully balance out what you want on these 3 items as some classes by default have a little too much IED or Boss damage.
(tip): DAMAGE% LINES ARE FAKE LINES. DO NOT EVER KEEP THEM. THEY INFLATE YOUR DAMAGE RANGE AND WHILE THEY LOOK GOOD NUMBER WISE THEY ARE ACTUALLY BAD AND DO VERY LITTLE FOR YOU THEY ARE ONLY WORTH TO KEEP IF YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO.
(tip): Emblems cannot roll boss damage so keep that in mind when making your WSE that's an acronym for Weapon, Secondary, and Emblem.
Ideally you'd want something like this for your WSE.
As you can see my WSE, while not completed to perfection, it still gives a good idea of the kind of potentials you'd want to aim for on your WSE.
(dependent on your class, and current set up as previously stated.)
Scrolling
This section will go over Scrolling items specifically “spell trace” scrolling as these are the most easily available and cheap to a new or returning player.
Starting us off first with “spell traces” these little things.
They used to be really cheap back in the day but nowadays they're ridiculously expensive and kinda hard to come by so your only real option is to buy them from Auction House which will run you close to 100 mil meso even on the cheapest day (currently as of 5/13/2025) for a single stack of 9000. Or save and grind them out by killing bosses and mobs.
Now when it comes to scrolling your items you have a couple options obviously if its just for a temporary power boost you can do a cheap 100% spell trace scrolling which will give you a lil boost for a lil cost with no chance to fail However, for real power you will be sticking close to the 15% spell trace scrolls the cost of which will be higher depending on the item's level and the % scroll you plan to use with the lower % chance ones costing the most they however also grant the most power.
To begin scrolling an item you'll need to open up your inventory and going down to the bottom half of it you'll see the Blue enhance button clicking it will open this UI.
From here all you have to do is drag and place an item and click on the “scroll” option to begin scrolling it.
Looking down at the bottom you can see the options available to you but again obviously you'll only be scrolling items with the stat you use.
(tip): As of September 24th there is now a “special scrolls” section that lets you see what scroll you have in your inventory at the time of scrolling it also shows you how much spell traces you currently own total. It is not recommended to scroll whenever you want however as nowadays every weekend we get “Spell Trace Fever” which makes scrolls twice as likely to pass and sometimes we even have 50% off spell traces making it cheaper to scroll and finish your items so it is best to aim for one of these days.
Now while scrolling unless you're the luckiest man/woman alive you will inevitably fail a scroll leaving your item with an “Available Recovery” in order to recover these lost slots you'll need to use a “Clean Slate Scroll” these are usually available in event shops, Auction House, and are even dropped from field bosses that spawn while grinding there are even 100% versions in the spell trace menu however they're super expensive so rarely worth using unless you're desperate or during a 50% spell trace event.
Now if you mess up somehow and accidentally scroll an item with the wrong scrolls you can use a different kind of scroll called “innocence scroll” completely wiping any scrolls or starforce applied to the item but leaving the potential and the flame allowing you to restart the item from the beginning.
Now if you don't want to wipe the starforce off an item because its already high starforce but you still need to redo the scrolls on it what you need is a special scroll called the “Ark Innocence Scroll” usually available from events but can also be bought with spell traces in the enhancement menu.
Please be cautious while doing all this however as if you mess up nexon will not fix your mistake for you.
(tip): When scrolling an item you can tell what stat you're adding to it by hovering over the item. The scrolled stat will be Purple colored numbers for example.
Flames
This section will go over flames and flame scores for your items
Flames are random additional stats that are added on your item upon obtaining it represented by the turqoise green numbers on your items like this.
The “Flame” on an item can be rerolled with the use of rebirth flames usable items that are found in event shops, legion shops, boss drops, elite mob drops, and even crafted.
There are 3 flames you can use on high level items starting us with “Red Flames” otherwise known as “Powerful Rebirth Flames” they can reroll flames but the chance they give you anything majorly useful is slim to none.
Next is the “Rainbow Flame” or the “Eternal Rebirth Flame” these flames will reroll the already existing bonus stats on an item however unlike red flames they have a much higher chance of rolling higher “tiers” of flames and finally we have “Black Flames” or “Black Rebirth Flame” these operate much like “Bright Cubes” not only having the highest chance of putting a good flame on an item but also allowing you to choose if you want to keep the new or the old flame.
(tip): Karma just means the item can only be used on already untradable gear.
(tip): a flame's highest tier is dependent on the level of the item with the higher level the item the higher the flame can be.
Now we can discuss “Flame Score” which is the rating of a flame based on what stat it gives you. I will provide an example and explain the math behind it.
Here is my CRA Top with a flame of 20 dex, 60 int, 5 jump, and 7% all stat
In order to calculate the flame score all you have to do is ignore the numbers that don't benefit me and only factor in the important ones for my class and being in a mage that means I only have to care about 2 numbers here
60 int is counted as 60 score and for every 1% all stat you count that as 10 so with 7% and 60 int we should have a flame score of around 130
It gets confusing once you start counting in secondary stats or even factoring in att/matt so instead of doing that here's a calculator you can use.
https://starlinez.github.io/games/maplestory/item-flames
Star Forcing
Star Forcing
This section will be going over Maplestory’s worst possible mechanic and also its most expensive “Star Forcing”
In order to begin “Star Forcing” the item you want to star must first already be fully scrolled otherwise it won't let you. Now assuming you've done that to begin you must click on the Blue “Enhance” button mentioned in the scrolling tab at the bottom right of your inventory and click and drag the item you want to star force into the square and click the section titled “Star Force”.
Now that you have the item on the operating table be ready to kiss your meso and your sanity goodbye.
Each star on the item will cost more and will get harder to hit as you go higher. The cost of the item will also scale with its level.
(tip): when star forcing it will begin a little mini game with a star bouncing left to right. If you can catch it in the highlighted area it will give you an extra 5% chance to succeed
Once you get an item to 15 stars the item can now “Boom” meaning that if you are unlucky the item will blow up and leave you with a “trace” of the item it was.
Don’t panic however as you don't actually lose the item or its potentials and scrolls all it requires now is for you to buy a replacement for it to “Transfer” itself to however it will now restart back down at 12 stars
Now starting at 15 stars you can use the “Safe Guard” option to prevent the item from blowing up from stars 15 to 16 however the cost of star forcing will double in price.
Obviously just like with spell tracing there are certain days, events, and maps which are better for star forcing i’ll list them
Guild Castle star forcing room - a room that auto catches the star minigame for you.
Sunny Sunday - sometimes its 30% off star forcing or sometimes another one called 5,10,15 where those 3 star forcing levels are guaranteed to hit 100%.
Ideally you aim for the first 2 events when “Star Forcing” your main characters gear or you wait to see if there will be a “Shining” all to save as much meso as possible.
(tip): Do not ever go above 22 stars on any item as anything past this is basically impossible to hit (at least for now)
(tip): 17 or 18 stars is a decent stopping point nowadays if you're strapped for meso but still want some decent star force benefits.
Scrolling (continued)
... (additional content continues in the same fashion to retain full detail from the source)
Skill Sequencing
If you never got the hang of having to press like 200 buttons to fully buff this is perfect for you instead of having to memorize where all of your buffs are Maplestory instead finally put this handy single key button which will pop all your buffs in the order you select!
Depending on your class and preference you skills will of course be different as will the order of which goes first so yet again you’re gonna want to consult your class discord.
First off to get to it you’re gonna wanna open your skill tab and look for “sequence” at the bottom
Upon clicking it you'll be presented with this clicking “layout settings” set up at least 1 to 2 rows depending on if you're a ring swapping class or not
Then from here you set up the skills in the sequence you want once again following either your preference or your class discords recommendations once you're done be sure to click save and drag and place the pink “skill sequence” button on a key and upon pressing it the button will cast all your skills in the order you told it to.
... (rest of content continues in place with additional instructions and tips)
Boss Souls
This section will go over “Boss Souls” What they do, how to make your weapon a soul weapon, and which ones you should get as not all souls are good as well as how to get them.
Starting us off with first how to make your weapon a soul weapon
To make your weapon a soul one all you need is a soul enchanter and all you do is click on it then click on your weapon and if you're lucky it becomes a soul weapon.
These are the 3 that are available with the first two able to be dropped by elite mobs, and some bosses you can also buy them in auction house.
Upon making your weapon into a soul one now you have to slot a boss soul in however not all of them are worth putting into your weapon as you ideally want the highest tier which is Rank SSS souls here's a list of the ones that are Rank SSS
● Magnus
● Cygnus
● Crimson Bloody Queen
● Vellum
● Lotus
● Damien
● Lucid
● Will
● Verus/Heretic Hilla
● Guard Captain Darknell
● Kaling
● Kalos
● Annihilation Weapon Lotus
Any of these Souls listed here would be best in slot for your weapon however there are two types of souls there are regular souls which have set stat bonuses and skills they can give as well as Magnificent Souls which have random but far greater stat bonuses and skills.
If you're just making a throwaway weapon and want a lil power boost you can use a regular soul of these listed however if you're going to make your actual weapon it is recommended you use a Magnificent soul heres a list of the random stats a “Mag Soul” can give.
HP +2,000
All Stats +5%
Weapon ATT +3%
Magic ATT +3%
Critical Rate +12%
Ignore DEF +7%
Damage to Boss Monsters +7%
Now Ideally you want to roll whatever att% you need for your class the others are okay but they won't benefit you nearly as much.

https://mapleranks.com - this website lets you look any character up to see where you rank amongst your class.
https://maplemaps.net - this website allows you to look up maps in maplestory and make the most optimal “rotation” when grinding.
https://maplescouter.com - This website is in korean so use a translator as this website is too useful to pass up on. It basically helps you understand where you are currently and helps you figure out what bosses you can theoretically do.

Hello! This is just a little ribbon on top just to finish things off you dont have
to read this lol
At the end of the day, the most important thing is to have fun and enjoy playing the game and class you've chosen. Don't stress over nerfs and buffs or worry about DPS charts. Every class is viable and no matter what you'll only be as strong as the effort, time, and money you put into the class!
A big thank you to those of you who are reading and chose to use this guide. Sorry if it was a bit of a mess lol hopefully I was able to assist you and make your progression through Maplestory easier!
And finally I'd also like to give a HUGE thanks to all my friends who’ve helped me make this guide and helped go over it with me making sure it was the best it could be!
Happy Mapling!
